Knokke is a coastal town located in Belgium, known for its luxurious lifestyle and high-end real estate. The town is a popular tourist destination, especially during summer and holidays. Due to its popularity, the town has seen a surge in real estate development, with many buildings undergoing renovation to upgrade their standards. The coastal environment of Knokke can be harsh, with high levels of humidity, salt, and wind. These environmental factors can cause damage to buildings, making it essential to use materials that are durable and resistant to these conditions.
The facades of buildings are particularly vulnerable to these factors, as they are exposed to the elements. In this video we showcase ten realized facade projects, each with its own unique style and design. The projects range from small boutiques to large residential buildings, showcasing the versatility of Dekton's materials.
Dekton's facades were chosen for the Knokke projects due to their durability and sustainability. The materials used are resistant to stains, scratches, and UV rays, making them ideal for the coastal environment. The material is also resistant to extreme temperatures, making them suitable for the town's moderate climate. The facades also contribute to the energy efficiency of the buildings. The materials used have a high thermal mass, which helps to regulate the temperature inside the buildings. This reduces the need for heating and cooling systems, resulting in lower energy consumption and costs.
Overall, the use of Dekton's facades in the Knokke projects not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the buildings but also provides durability, sustainability, and energy efficiency. The materials used are ideal for the coastal environment of Knokke, making them a practical choice for building materials.
