Talu Tekstil’s recently inaugurated showroom in Istanbul welcomes customers and embodies the brand’s position as one of Turkey’s leading textile manufacturers. Since its inception in 1994, Talu has grown considerably and now produces around 13 million garments a year, a significant proportion of which are destined for the discerning European market. To design its new headquarters, the company called on the expertise of architectural practice XYZ Design, renowned for its innovative approach to seamlessly blending form and function.
Covering over 1,000 square metres, the project has been meticulously crafted to reflect Talu Tekstil’s philosophy and distinctive style. In the words of the XYZ Design team, their approach focused on creating a “transparent space that flows and offers continuity”, moving away from “accumulated and unclear zones”. This strategy has resulted in an aesthetically pleasing and contemporary interior and exterior design that is also practical and serves the functional purpose of the building.
One of the outstanding features of the showroom is the use of materials, including Cosentino. Specifically, DKTN was chosen by the XYZ Design team for its “calm and soothing design language”, which was in perfect harmony with the overarching vision of the project. Cosentino’s ultra-compact stone was selected on the basis of three key factors: its aesthetic appeal, its long-term durability and the crucial hygienic factors that are essential in a showroom environment.
Two contrasting DKTN colours that work well together
In the bathroom, DKTN Sasea, an ultra-compact stone inspired by Sahel limestone with greyish-cream tones, was used for the countertop. Its beauty is enhanced by the way it interacts with the plant motifs carved into the wall. This material made it possible to create a design rich in detail while maintaining a controlled and smooth appearance, reflecting Talu Tekstil’s meticulousness and commitment to quality.
In contrast to the choice for the bathroom, DKTN Kelya, inspired by dark marble with light veins, adorns the façade of the showroom. This ultra-compact stone makes a bold visual statement to visitors with its resounding and elegant appearance. As they say, first impressions count.
The collaboration with XYZ Design and the choice of Cosentino materials have given rise to a space that allows Talu Tekstil’s products to shine in their own light. It is no easy task to design modern retail spaces to perfection, but this project achieved a very good result.
