The new headquarters of Amphora, a marketing consultancy specialising in architecture and design based in the heart of Dubai, redefines the concept of workspace, transforming a mere 80 square metres into a well-balanced mix of luxury and functionality.
The project is the result of the innovative vision of the company’s founder, Miriam Llano, and the meticulous execution of Portuguese designer Frederico Cruz, Design Director at one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality developers and operators. Together, they have conceived a space that is very different from the typical corporate configuration, aiming for an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, inspiration and creativity.
The Amphora office deliberately moves away from corporate conventionalism, embracing the idea of an open space with glass partitions, warm and earthy tones, and a harmonious interplay of lines, textures and materials. Everything here is designed to be dynamic and flexible, and to adapt easily to the many different daily activities that take place in this modern office.
The different textures of Dekton enhance the style of this workspace
Instead of the usual workstations, a long table in Dekton Arga was chosen to serve both as a common place for daily work and as a cosy meeting point for gastronomic experiences.
Meanwhile, the founder’s office stands out for the magnificent desk clad in Dekton Khalo, whose solid yet delicate design symbolises feminine power. Despite its large dimensions, it is comfortable and practical, with sockets and hooks for cables and bags. This gives the desk a clean aesthetic that is complemented by a Vibia lamp for a touch of drama.
In the rest area, the sofa establishes a pleasant dialogue with the elegant coffee table and the pedestal clad in Dekton Neural to create a cosy space for informal meetings. Last but not least, the Dekton Trance worktop and wall cladding in the office area and the Dekton Ceppo pedestals in the entrance, which hold lamps by La Nena – a Spanish home decor brand –, make a statement of sophistication and warmth.
“The Dekton colours, inspired by natural stone, complement the colour scheme and add a timeless elegance to the space. The large format of the slabs gives the bespoke furniture an elegant look, and their stain-proof quality is an added benefit in terms of maintenance. In addition to their aesthetics, Dekton Arga and Dekton Khalo were chosen for their glossy finishes, which reflect light and create depth, contributing to that coveted feeling of spaciousness,” says Llano.
