Turkey and Greece share the crystal blue waters of the Aegean Sea, so it is not surprising that this project in the Turkish city of Bodrum is called “Mykonos House”, after the well-known Greek island. Indeed, the idea of Bodrum Mutfak Mobilya was always to create a minimalist design in the colours of the Aegean.
The combination of white and wood is always a success, especially when you have the opportunity to combine both materials in an idyllic setting such as this kitchen, which has been designed to evoke the tranquillity of a Greek home.
In search of nature
Bodrum Mutfak Mobilya is quite clear about what stands out in this project: “functionality through simplicity, easiness through functionality... Echoing the colours of nature in every detail with its soft tones, the project combines the convenience of having a garden a stone’s throw from the kitchen with the minimalist design texture of the Aegean coast.”
According to the studio, the “extravagant location” is what defines this kitchen, which has been designed without compromising the contours of the Cyclades. For the studio, the choice of material was crucial, and they chose Silestone White Zeus, “an energetic and infinite white shade that quietly complements the wood.”
Silestone White Zeus, an old friend
“Thanks to its texture and colour, the choice of White Zeus, a stone with which the owners were already familiar, met all expectations in this residential project. The combination and balance of colours and stylish textured finish provided an effective result,” as well as the functionality required for this type of space.
The kitchen is L-shaped and opens onto a spectacular outdoor garden. The dining table next to the large operable floor-to-ceiling windows creates a unique connection between indoors and outdoors and provides that sought-after tranquillity that has always been associated with Greece and its islands.
