Creating a new atmosphere in the bright dining room was Christine Egholm's starting point when she got the idea to update her beautiful, black-lacquered dining table with the characteristic plinth from the Danish design company, Skovby - and she succeeded.
“With DKTN Arga as the tabletop, we didn't just update the dining table but the whole room - the change from black to the vivid, bright marble expression is a perfect match for both the curtains, the wall color and our iconic Y-chairs, which will always have a place at the table.”
A truly practical choice
DKTN Arga is part of the natural stone-inspired collection, DKTN Stonika, and is inspired by the Taj Mahal's quartz. It has a calm, cream-coloured base with a golden, brownish marble expression – true to nature but with all the functionality that makes DKTN a truly practical choice.
However, the path to the new tabletop was not the easiest... the shape had to be millimeter-identical to the original tabletop from Skovby, which required not just a drawing but a full-size template and a visit by the team from Marmor & Granit, who produced the tabletop .
When it was delivered, however, it was easy: DKTN Arga is placed almost directly on the tabletop – only with an anti-slip layer between the two surfaces – and it feels absolutely safe.
“DKTN Arga is a fantastic everyday-friendly choice. We are really impressed by how easy it is to clean the table top - and how relaxing it is not to worry about the table when we have guests - or when the children use the table when they play, draw and paint.”, says Christine Egholm.
