This 1938 home in Lake Forest had very unique and special elements that made it charming and cozy, including a breakfast bar area framed with cedar timber that gave it a horse stable feel. This was perfect for the homeowner, who used to ride horses growing up in Northern England. With the exception of the hood area with a brick veneer facade, the entire kitchen area needed to be redone. The client needed a counter that was higher than the standard measures to accommodate.
Dekton became the undisputed surface choice for this project, as it met all of the homeowners requirements. Dekton is durable, not prone to staining, low maintenance, and beautiful. Dekton Albarium was the clear choice, an off-white shade that worked in tandem with the other elements in the space.
From the Kraftizen collection, the color Dekton Albarium is inspired by Roman stucco with a matte finish. Both the homeowner and designer Kristi Tridemy at Crafted Design Group loved the color as it was a perfect complement against the gray base cabinets and oatmeal wall cabinets. Dekton Albarium’s pattern and softly sanded texture added the perfect dimension to the smooth finish of the painted cabinets without being overpowering of the other textural elements in the kitchen.
This family can enjoy their new kitchen and rest assured the Dekton countertop and backsplash will last years of time and use while they create memories around it.
