A Divine Design, Angmering

With this renovation, the customer was looking for a kitchen which matched the luxury and character of the rest of the open-plan room, and which was perfectly designed to maximise the area allocated to it. The key, though, was to create a homely and inviting family space. The Silestone worktops in Eternal Calacatta Gold accentuate the light pouring in through the windows, making the room bright and welcoming. Meanwhile, painted in the earthy tones of F&B Skimming Stone and Bancha, the bespoke Loxley furniture is perfectly in tune with the customer’s furnishings. The breakfast bar and checkerboard butcher’s block, both made from solid oak, coordinate with the wooden floor stretching across the rest of the room. Therefore, although this is a large open-plan space, it feels cohesive. The warm tones are picked up again by distinctive ornate details, such as the Stirling Brushed Brass handles and the Quooker Fusion Pro 3 tap in Patinated Brass, which finish the design with finesse. The most eye-catching design feature, though, is the island, which sweeps across the space. The variation of shapes and levels adds character and interest to this expansive island, with the curved edges providing an elegant softness. One of these curves also provided the solution to a major design challenge. It allowed the island to be shaped around the large pillar, to make the most of the narrow opening and allow for a generous walkway on either side of the island. The design also had to accommodate the customer’s AGA.
