They say the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and visiting this kitchen by Andrea Anez INTERIOR + ARCH, we find a stunning space that is the result of good design decisions. We’re visiting the Mosaic Condominium in Miami Beach, “the inspiration was clear from the location: to bring the outside in,” said Anez. The goal was to achieve a surprising effect following clear and impactful design premises, bringing naturalness, sand, and the energy of the beach into the space.

Anez and her team encountered Dekton Argentium on a quest to find naturalness and pure, raw materials. The color is similar to concrete and has visual robustness, which transmitted the exact sensations they wanted to generate in the space. One of the key premises was monochrome...but monochrome through the lens of sensations and effects found in the smallest of details. The monochrome effect in the kitchen was brought to life with Dekton Argentium, a color that elicits in us a sensation of total dissolution of materialities, bringing purity and reducing lines to bring focus to the physical elements, such as the imposing center island.

Looking up, we also see unity and homogeneity - a real fusion between the elements and function of the kitchen. The power of the details, such as the lighting, goes hand-in-hand with the premise, but hands form a contrasting color, such as green. Other sensory elements in the space include the mimetic bar stools with a unique texture.

“We consider that it is a whole, having achieved a homogeneity and at the same time a direct contrast, makes this space a result of good design decisions.” shared Anez, “That is why we answer with certainty that the contrast between the purity of a kitchen and the reflection of a bar, is our architectural success.”
