Influencer and founder of Dubai-based boutique design studio C’est ici, Mónica Arango, has renovated her home kitchen in collaboration with Cosentino. With a design that seamlessly blends functionality and aesthetics, ‘Casa Mia - Kitchen’, as she has named the project, is all about a minimalist approach and a philosophy that embraces imperfect beauty while evoking the sense of warmth and comfort of a family home.

The main aim of the renovation was to brighten and warm up the space, whilst introducing the desired homely style – two objectives that have been successfully achieved with the redesign. As the heart of the home, the revamped kitchen has been transformed into the perfect setting for gathering with family and friends with ease, while providing a warm and welcoming space for everyday living.

A neutral, light colour palette dominates the aesthetic, which is achieved through the fixtures and materials used, including light oak flooring, beige cabinetry and Dekton Arga worktops and splashback, the latter being the most prominent surface in the kitchen.

The warm and inviting atmosphere created by the soft cream background and delicate brown gold veins of the Dekton Arga is enhanced by a symmetrical layout and a strategically placed window that brings in an abundance of natural light. Joinery details such as shadow grooves and concealed hinges add to C’est ici’s signature minimalist styling. Other refined features include the brass mixer tap and bespoke stools in materials such as taupe fabric, black steel with bronze powder coating and a touch of tan leather.

‘Cosentino materials are amazing, offering innovative and sustainable solutions. They are the perfect combination of design, value and inspiration. Dekton Arga worked very well with the nude colour palette of the kitchen, giving it a very strong character,’ says Mónica.

The new kitchen layout had to respect the open kitchen concept, which required very special finishes to blend in perfectly with the rest of the room.

In this way, the white walls become a sought-after canvas, where the light wooden built-in units and the island in the form of a high dining table with stools suggest a space where functionality is at the service of design, which in turn seeks elegance in the small details.
