“My inspiration always comes from the elegance and harmony that characterise Italian architecture and design; their warm colours and combination of materials and textures always remind me of Scarpa’s designs, which stand out for their elegant and elaborate finishes”. These are the words with which its creator, from S.B. Architecture, sums up the atmosphere of this flat in Tel Aviv (Israel). Indeed, it is an open-plan space with straight shapes and cosy textures and a large window in the kitchen-living area offering extraordinary views over the city.

“The interesting thing about this project is its minimalist character and cleanliness of lines. This is quite evident in the large surfaces used for cladding and flooring, which provide fewer divisions and are one of Cosentino’s hallmarks. Also noteworthy is its calm design, which stands out both in visual and sensory terms”, the studio points out. They allude to Cosentino’s large format slabs, which were used in this project to achieve a very cutting-edge sense of continuity.

The same format was used for the living room floor. Specifically, the colour chosen was Dekton Nilium, a minimalist colour from the Industrial Collection. Inspired by silver metal, this ultra-compact surface offers a subtle combination of white and grey shades, while the delicate appearance of its warm coloured layers seems to represent the beginning of the oxidation process of a material.

Dekton for bathroom flooring and wall cladding

Nilium matches perfectly with the light neutral shades used in the room, while the master bathroom is dominated by a bold black colour. “The textures are soft in the master bathroom, and Dekton Laurent provides the rough and ‘masculine’ look and feel that the customer wanted thanks to its broken solid wire appearance”, the studio says.

Inspired by Port Laurent natural stone, this colour features a play of nuances that enhances the contrast of its shades, Thus its golden veins establish a hierarchy in the space and bring warmth to a cold, dark background, which in turn add depth to the overall effect.

“Meanwhile, the guest bathroom is ‘quieter’, and Dekton Liquid Shell’s warmth, cleanliness and finish create a sense of slight spatial dependency”, the studio further says. Inspired by the pearlescent look of seashells on an off-white shade with cream nuances, Liquid Shell is a tribute to sobriety and softness, a recall of the life hidden in the waves of the sea. One of its distinguishing features is the change in brightness that occurs on its surface as a result of its colour pattern, which makes it an elegant and sophisticated colour.

As for the flooring, the colour chosen for both bathrooms was Dekton Aeris, a colour inspired by White Limestone and featuring light tones with touches of cream. It is a subtle neutral tone that blends perfectly with both the black used in the master bathroom and the beige of the guest bathroom.

Large, continuous and seamless surfaces thanks to large format Dekton slabs

“The idea of choosing Cosentino products came first and foremost from the search for a material that is as natural looking as possible, is long-lasting and has the ability to provide large and continuous surfaces, as the fewer joints used, the cleaner the design”, the studio points out.

“Installing the cladding was the biggest challenge, as we needed to preserve the uniqueness of the product by making the surfaces as large as possible. This required skilled workers who knew how to handle the material and carry out the work in the most appropriate way”, the studio says.

And finally they say: “Cosentino was very professional throughout the entire process and provided us with a high level of service, offering technical solutions whenever necessary and supplying the material on time”.
