The Medipol META Technology and Development Centre in Kavacik (Istanbul), which is part of the Medipol Hospital Group, offers entrepreneurs and companies the opportunity to carry out pre-development, development and post-development processes. It is a technology centre created to provide support through services such as business start-up, access to financial resources, management, advice, mentoring, office participation and networking.

These facilities are therefore exposed to heavy traffic and must meet a number of functional requirements without sacrificing a touch of elegance and sophistication, as they have to convey a well-groomed corporate image. This is why architect Suat Özcan chose Dekton by Cosentino for its surfaces.

Aesthetically pleasing and durable materials

For Özcan, the aesthetic harmony and durability of the material were the most important aspects in choosing Dekton. “Knowing that, thanks to the wide range of products available, I can easily convey the feeling I want in every space of every project, always moves me. Dekton’s scratch resistance and ease of cleaning make it an aesthetically pleasing material, especially in the entrance area. In addition, the perfect combination of Dekton and wood gave this area the warmth it needed.”

In this sense, the reception area features a combination of Dekton Trance and Dekton Keranium, while the remaining Dekton colours – Lucid, Awake and Natura – are used in a number of meeting rooms.

Five finishes for five styles

Powerful, innovative, industrial and technological, Dekton Keranium is a chocolate brown shade that blends superbly with wood, making it the perfect complement for the reception desk.

Meanwhile, Dekton Trance is a fluid colour with a bluish veil. The background reveals a combination of cream and grey colours, a mix of tones that blend with the white palette. The fine veins move between oxides and fade to reddish gold.

For its part, Dekton Natura replicates the quintessential style of marble with a soft grey veining that enhances its classic white background with a lustrous polished finish. The glassy reflection of this striking colour is achieved thanks to a unique nanotechnology-based treatment and mechanical polishing, which results in a glass-like gloss.

As for Dekton Awake, it reinterprets the iconic attributes of the precious Paonazzo stone. Its thick veining with gradients of light grey and cream, with luscious rusty terracotta and subtle hints of inky blue, transforms an ordinary table into a sophisticated surface.

Last but not least, Dekton Lucid is a soft cream colour with a mix of gold and blue tones and many nuances, reflections and flashes of colour.
