In an apartment at Frogner in Oslo, Jan Thomas, Harlem Alexander and the dog Tyr have settled down. The fact that they thrive so well is largely thanks to the work interior designer Guri Mulvik has done in upgrading the apartment. In the kitchen, Cosentino gets to show its best side.

Jan Thomas is the owner and founder of Jan Thomas studio and has his own line of hair and beauty products, and has published several books. In addition, he runs a popular podcast with Einar Tørnquist and can still be seen in various programs on TV. It was precisely in a TV program that he met his partner Harlem Alexander, who is also a skilled hairstylist and co-owner of Jan Thomas studio Frogner.

Behind the highly valued kitchen is interior designer Guri Mulvik. Every detail has been carefully thought out to suit both the needs and tastes of Jan and Harlem. The kitchen is specially made by Tigne, designed and manufactured by Knapphus kitchen centre. The combination of solid oak and the Dekton boards creates a cozy atmosphere. The wood is treated with Rubio monocoat in the color cornsilk, which goes perfectly with the color Morpheus from Dekton. The worktop has a matt surface, and the white base with gray and golden veins creates a timeless elegance for the room.

"Dekton Morpheus fits in perfectly. I like the feel of stone, and not least that it can withstand so much. We've tested it out a bit, and we're very pleased” says Jan about the new worktop.

Dekton Morpheus has found a place on the kitchen counter, the back wall and the kitchen island. In addition, Dekton slime has been used to cover the cupboard fronts on the island. Dekton slime is only 4 mm thick, which gives many design possibilities. The interior details from Milla Studio complete the beautiful kitchen.

“Askim Steinindustri has cut and assembled everything from Dekton in an absolutely perfect way. They deserve a lot of praise” says Harlem. “Not least, Guri has really done a fantastic job. She is incredibly skilled in her profession and a good person. I have grown so fond of this kitchen and I love the stone countertops. This has become a proper home” says Harlem. Jan agrees, “I am so grateful to Guri and everyone who has contributed to us having a place where we feel at home.”

"To get so much trust from this couple who are extremely concerned with, and knowledgeable in, the aesthetic themselves, is very rewarding,” says Guri. “I am very happy that they are happy with the choices we have made. It means a lot to me” replies Guri.
