The Dubai office of Ornare, an international design firm based in Brazil, is behind the design of the interior spaces of a cosy luxury villa in Jumeirah Park. Initially, the customer’s brief was to create a space that was both functional and creative. The Ornare designers’ proposal was a clean design for luxurious interior spaces, carefully curated with high design pieces and customised solutions throughout the house: from the kitchen to the cabinets, wall systems, wardrobes and pieces of furniture.

The search for the highest quality was also considered in the selection of materials. The house features a combination of wood, stone and metal in perfect balance, creating a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere. To create a dialogue with this high-end design, the studio chose Dekton. “The big advantage for us was that we could choose from many different options to create the perfect combination with the other finishes used, as well as use the material in a very creative way in combination with our Ornare wall system solutions”, explains Shalise Basso, architect and director of Ornare Dubai.

Versatility in multiple applications

Dekton’s versatility stands out through multiple applications in the interior spaces of this luxury home. From decorative wall claddings to kitchen worktops, splashbacks and office furniture cladding, Dekton blends harmoniously with the rest of the materials chosen and the palette of neutral tones used throughout the house.

Bergen, Arga, Natura, Helena and Laurent, colours inspired by natural stone, were chosen for the warmth and elegance they bring to living spaces. These colours were used for the TV wall systems in the bedrooms, living room and office, as well as in the kitchen. As for Galema, this colour was perfect to create an office desk integrated into the surrounding space.

Taking advantage of Dekton’s benefits

Its low porosity makes it stain resistant and very easy to maintain. As an indoor surface, its resistance to scratches and temperature changes also stand out. Furthermore, it is a Carbon Neutral product throughout its life cycle, which is a plus in terms of sustainability.

“It is a very versatile surface that we could use for both the kitchen worktop and the office desk. Furthermore, its technical advantages in terms of durability and quality are unrivalled. Thus, Dekton constitutes itself as a material that stands the test of time, whether as a work surface in a kitchen or as a cladding for furniture or walls.

“With Dekton we could choose from many different options to create the perfect combination with the other finishes used, as well as use the material in a very creative way in combination with our Ornare wall system solutions”.
