"The coincidence of life has often led me to where I ultimately had to end up," explains Serge Anton. After traveling for 40 years all over the world, the French-Belgian photographer decided to settle. After Africa, Asia, Paris, and New York, Serge dreams of a place away from the hustle and bustle of the public, a place where nature is central. On a summer evening in 2020, he closes the door of his photo exhibition Faces. On the way back, he takes only one photo, that of an abandoned building, a poetic building from 1886, surrounded by water and surrounded by ancient trees. It is love at first sight. Three years later, he has made the place his own. Serge has completely redesigned the spaces and has thought out the execution down to the smallest detail. Together with local craftsmen, surrounded by handy friends and carefully chosen brands, l'Atelier is his place; an exhibition space entirely dedicated to photography, art, ceramics, and sculpture.

A soothing sensory atmosphere

Serge Anton describes his renovation as a work of "haute couture, tailor-made." He chose to cover the walls with earth-colored lime. This monochrome interior gives the space an enveloping elegance. Serge Anton expresses his passion for material and texture by highlighting concrete, steel, stone, ceramics, wood, wool, and linen, creating a soothing sensory atmosphere.

Passionate about light, Serge paid particular attention to the careful selection of lighting and furniture. In the middle of the main room, the long black oak furniture from Ethnicraft, covered with a Dekton Sirius top, serves as a showcase for artworks. Serge emphasizes the obviousness of his choice: the robustness of Dekton, the dark color of Sirius, with its unique texture, perfectly matches the black oak furniture.

The kitchen has a warm and functional atmosphere, with materials such as concrete, steel, wood, and bronze. Serge decides to integrate a Dekton Keranium worktop. For him, it is obvious to choose Cosentino as a supplier, because it is a family business with strong ecological and human values. By providing his kitchen with a Dekton worktop, the industrial character of the place is reinforced.

Serge also focuses on the technical properties of Dekton, such as durability, strength, and scratch resistance, which are ideal qualities for an exhibition space or kitchen. Serge explains: "With micro-concrete kitchen doors in chocolate color, walls painted in terracotta shades, and a mainly rough, almost industrial interior, decorated with warm lighting, Dekton Keranium was the perfect choice."

In this intimate refuge by the water, Serge Anton sets up a temple for his passion and art. l'Atelier is a hymn to the beauty of contrasts and textures. It is here, like nowhere else, that Serge, far from the glitter of superficial trends, draws his inspiration, his desire for creation rooted in the sincerity of human existence.
