The highest levels of quality and avant-garde design are the hallmarks of DROMOS, the new AEDAS residential complex in Seville. The prestigious developer has chosen the boulevard of Mairena del Aljarafe for its new complex, consisting of 38 homes with 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms, communal gardens, swimming pool, community room, storage rooms…

The building also stands out for its highly customisable interiors, with a choice of colours and materials in the kitchen, a high level of home automation and the availability of charging points for electric cars. In fact, DROMOS’s approach to sustainability is another one of its highlights: not only is the building powered by renewable energy sources, but it also has underfloor heating in the bathrooms, aerothermal heating, room climate control, and the façade of the terraces is clad in Dekton.

Cladding that contributes to sustainability

This Cosentino surface is a carbon neutral product for its entire life cycle. This means that, right from the extraction of the raw material, only the most demanding, efficient and environmentally friendly processes are used, and that the greenhouse gases generated are offset by investing in UN-backed offset projects.

Furthermore, its high resistance to UV rays, scratches, frost, thawing and even fire, together with its low water absorption rate, ensure a pristine appearance for many years to come. This surface, which combines low maintenance and a long service life, is also beneficial to the environment.

Safety and sustainability for terrace façades

“We chose Dekton for two main reasons: its excellent performance in façade applications, due to its almost zero porosity, and its availability in large format slabs, which allowed us to achieve the aesthetics we were looking for. Other parameters, such as fire classification, were also important in the choice of material, given the intended use,” says Ámbito Arquitectura, the studio responsible for the design.

Large format Dekton Sasea and Dekton Kreta slabs were used for the cladding of the entire external façade in the terrace area. This was achieved by using a cement-based adhesive system with a minimum of 3 mm joint between the different coloured pieces, giving the cladding a very interesting visual continuity. This system features a concealed safety fixing by means of a rear groove in the slabs, which ensures that they remain in place in the event of adhesive failure. It also offers high impact resistance, easy cleaning and simple maintenance in a high traffic area of the building.

Before choosing Dekton, the experts discarded many products that did not meet the necessary requirements for maximum safety and durability. “Aesthetics is the first thing that catches the eye, but after the first impression it is necessary that the material meets all the requirements set by the project management,” they say.

An eye-catching and elegant look thanks to Dekton Sasea and Kreta

From an aesthetic point of view, the elegant cladding in Dekton Sasea and Dekton Kreta is the perfect calling card for the high level of quality that DROMOS, a complex designed for the most demanding customers, also offers in its interiors.

Inspired by Sahel limestone, Dekton Sasea features an elegant cream-grey background, full of detail, yet soft and gentle. Meanwhile, Dekton Kreta is inspired by traditional cement floors and its matt, homogeneous and restrained design, – with darker or lighter areas depending on the density of the pattern –, exudes an air of serenity

“We are very pleased with the results we have achieved by working with the large format and the colours chosen,” says the studio. The professionals highlight the versatility, ease of cleaning, low maintenance and ease of installation. “All materials were delivered to the site in an organised and timely manner. In addition, we used a company recommended by Cosentino, which, together with the support they gave us on site, was reflected in the final result.”
