Cosentino has the most beautiful applications for interior. We are familiar with everything: from kitchen worktops, bathrooms, floors to furniture. We kno wit all. But exterior is also part of the Dekton repertoire. The versatility and unique performances make Dekton an extremely suitable and aesthetic solution for sustainable facade construction.
The Amstelwijck building is located on the Laan van Londen in Dordrecht; a sustainable and innovative office building that initially was equipped with prefab concrete facade elements. To raise the aesthetics of the building to a higher level, the wish for a combination of material arose. On the condition of the municipality Dordrecht that it had to be stone.
For this project Bias Architects chose the colour Dekton Bromo, beside that it matched the material demand, this colour perfectly suits de demand for a facade as dark as possible.
Because the ultra-compactness of the facade panels, the resistance to all influences like frost and UV radiation, Dekton is perfectly applicable as facade. The material also requires little to none maintenance and, if it is covered in graffiti, it is easy to clean.
The biggest advantage of this application is the relatively light construction of the carrier panels, an aluminium substructure and the cladding with Dekton Bromo. The combination of all this makes it not only technically optimal but also an aesthetic piece of art. A sleek facade in combination with the fascia board, the wooden posts and Dekton, ensures a natural look-and-feel and a random pattern in application.
Dekton is also a sustainable choice and pioneering in the world of stone. The material is completely carbon neutral during its entire lifecycle. CO2 emissions are offset making Dekton the only 100% carbon neutral material on the market.
