Art Afternoon Tea at the Rosewood with Silestone

Rosewood x Silestone Silestone Afternoon Tea Tray

The Art Afternoon Tea at ultra-luxury hotel, Rosewood London is using Silestone serving trays designed by Ido Garini of Studio Appétit.  Monochrome, marble-inspired Marquina from the Eternal collection was the colour of choice.  It perfectly complements the elegant backdrop of the hotel’s Mirror Room.

Made from 90% quartz crystals, Silestone was the ideal choice for the Art Afternoon Tea.  With a very low level of porosity, Silestone has a high resistance to stains and scratches and is a hygienic choice for tableware. In recognition of this, Silestone has received NSF certification from NSF International, marking the safety of the product in view of contact with all kinds of food.  Marquina also boasts Cosentino’s revolutionary N-Boost technology.  This enhances the surface’s already impressively high stain resistance, as well as boosting its glossy finish.

The serving trays by Studio Appétit continue the design studio’s work with the central-London hotel.  The studio also worked on the Rosewood’s Rodin Afternoon Tea in collaboration with The British Museum.  Inspired by the ground-breaking sculptural work of artist, Auguste Rodin, the afternoon tea offered guests three carefully designed sweet treats. These were served on bespoke tableware designed by the studio.  For the Art Afternoon Tea, the Rosewood London’s executive pastry chef, Mark Perkins, has created a colourful collection of pastries.  Inspired by the retro art of the 70s and 80s, keen eyes will spot Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup can and Malika Favre’s retro twister.
