Rounded, evocative and welcoming shapes. Warm tones, stylish pieces, and large windows with panoramic views. None of the features in Fayy Health Polyclinic would give away the fact that you are in a healthcare facility. However, it has all the necessary sanitary equipment and offers the most innovative and effective treatments in the fields of aesthetics, dermatology and plastic surgery.
Its stunning appearance was designed by award-winning Dubai-based interior design studio Styled Habitat. Drawing its inspiration from the sensuality of the human body, the clinic emphasises the balance of natural forms and embraces the organic. The result is an environment that instantly promotes a state of calm and refined indulgence, yet is highly functional. Likewise, its exceptional character reinforces the brand’s image as a provider of outstanding service and a champion of multiple interpretations of beauty.
Located in the heart of Dubai’s Central Business District, this high-end women’s health and outpatient plastic surgery centre is a 1,300 m2 facility with consultation, treatment and procedure rooms. There are rooms for both plastic surgery and women’s health and care, as well as a spa area.
Dekton, an antibacterial material with a luxurious look
“The design of a healthcare facility required the use of impermeable surfaces to create a bacteria-free environment,” explains Styled Habitat. This, combined with the need to create an elegant and unique space, meant that the studio had to look for materials that wouldn’t compromise on cleanliness, but would also fit aesthetically with the overall design theme.
The research led to Dekton Laurent, an ultra-compact stone whose colour ticked all the boxes: it was a high-performance, low-porosity, easy-to-clean, antibacterial material with an organic yet sophisticated tone that perfectly matched the character of the clinic.
Inspired by the natural stone Port Laurent, the texture of this surface brings an interplay of nuances that enhance the contrast of its tones. Its golden veins establish a hierarchy in the space and bring warmth to a cold, dark background, which in turn add depth to the overall effect, creating a contrasting yet harmonious aesthetic within the space.
Dekton Laurent is used for a complete set of units, seamlessly cladding the countertop, sink, splashback and vanity unit. The combination of this stone with dark stained oak slats accentuates its dramatic gold veins, resulting in a lavish juxtaposition of materials that fulfilled the client’s desire for a ‘sense of haven’.
“We were challenged to design a sterile clinic using an unconventional approach. This meant that while we could not compromise on the use of waterproof and antimicrobial materials, we had to find surfaces that would elevate the spaces and make them feel less cold and more homely. This is where Cosentino’s Dekton fits in perfectly. It is completely non-porous and bacteriostatic, but has an excellent aesthetic appearance and a colour very similar to that of natural stone,” Styled Habitat concludes.
