Oculis Project

Palm Desert, an expansive 1,500 sq. mtr. villa located in Jumeirah Golf Estates - one of Dubai’s prime luxury residential communities, is a newly unveiled project designed by C’est ici Design.

The interior of this home, a masterful blend of Arabian Desert vibes and the studio’s house style of Japandi minimalism combining Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics, is a picture of tranquillity and simplicity. Clean lines, organic, earthy hues, indoor greenery, weathered woods, open spaces and natural light create harmonious, inviting spaces.

Stand out features of the design include the sunken seating area - a hallmark of traditional Japanese interiors, shoji like linen partitions, double volume spaces, the custom-built bar and a medley of materials and textures right from stone and natural wood to micro-cement flooring and an unexpected touch of metals and burgundy textile.

C’est ici handled the complete design and build for the villa, including hard and soft finishes, joinery and fit out. With over 40 pieces of bespoke furniture and fit outs, the project achieves an outstanding level of customization.

Tables and countertops with Dekton

A Dekton Khalo table anchors the dining area. It’s ultra-polished surface and Patagonia stone inspired hue compliment the metal mesh wall cladding and offers a counterpoint to the organic textures of wood and ceramic accessories. The rounded edges of the countertop visually match the curved backrest of the dining chairs while the colours sync in perfect harmony.

A second dining table with a Dekton Danae countertop is a statement piece for its form and eclectic combination of arm chairs, bench and ceramic accessories that complete the picture.

The bar, an exceptional example of bespoke design, captivates the eye with the juxtaposition of a floating raw monkey wood countertop from Slab house, textured paint finish from Colortek, Dekton Kira worktops with its earthy tones and light grey veining and the CNC-carved Japandi shutters.

“Dekton is a remarkably innovative Carbon Neutral surface, with a broad range of natural stone inspired colours. It is an ultra-compact surface that successfully combines sustainability with a luxury aesthetic.”
