Taking its excellent location as a starting point, architect and interior designer Javier Tomás decided to enhance the sea views that this flat with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and kitchen-living room has to offer.

The project focuses on the day area, where the living room, dining room and kitchen take on great importance. In fact, the kitchen is elevated, which further enhances the perception of the exterior. The kitchen island, the wet areas of the bathrooms and the outdoor barbecue are clad in microcement to ensure the balance and harmony that characterise the project. The work area in the kitchen is made of Dekton Albarium, which was also used to create the double height sink integrated into the worktop.

Mediterranean style and noble materials

The design concept revolves around neutral, Mediterranean tones and noble materials, including microcement cladding for the floors, clay mortar for walls and ceilings and natural stained oak. This same wood was also used for all the cabinets, pieces of joinery that enhance the character and design of the project. To complete the play of textures, Dekton and Sensa were used in the kitchen and bathroom to elevate the design.

On the use of Cosentino materials, Javier Tomás says: “on one part, we used Sensa Sant Angelo to create the pedestal washbasin units, with the basin made of the same material. Then, Dekton Albarium was the material of choice for both the kitchen worktop and the sink. The latter features a double-height design, with the built-in tap located at the upper part”.

Technical advantages by Cosentino

Every project seeks a balance between design and functionality of the materials. And in this particular project, both Dekton and Sensa achieve this with flying colours. “In addition to their great versatility in terms of designs and textures to create very unique spaces, they are highly resistant to heat, stains, sunlight and wear and tear, making them perfect for use in heavy traffic areas”.

As a work surface, Dekton “offers maximum performance. It is perfect for both indoors and out, features high impact and scratch resistance and is highly resistant to water thanks to its very low porosity. In addition, it is a carbon neutral material throughout its entire life cycle”, in his own words.
