"I believe in a different and smarter way to purchase, without doubt, the most important investment you can make for your home. At Kendell+Co we don't have an expensive high-street showroom and work predominantly by word-of-mouth recommendation through our network of architects and interior designers. These enormous savings in our operation mean we can provide the very best value to our clients and by limiting the number of projects we are involved with ensures the utmost care and support throughout projects. Representing a very genuine saving, there is no other bespoke kitchen company like ours and I am very proud of our work."
Julia Kendell fell in love with design as a teenager. Working as a 15-year-old in a local wallpaper and fabric showroom, her passion for interiors has flourished over the years. With a real flair for colour and a skill for helping clients put schemes together, she spent every spare hour she could learning about interior design. After leaving school, Julia took over managing the showroom.
Julia then trained professionally in kitchen design with John Lewis of Hungerford and over the years has worked with impressive brands including Smallbone and Poggenpohl. In 2005 Julia was offered the opportunity to present on television, beginning her screen career for ITV on the programme ‘60 Minute Makeover’. She also spent six years as the on-screen designer on BBC 1’s ‘DIY SOS'. Julia finally decided to start her own kitchen business, Kendell + Co, to provide a premium design and installation service to clients.

The urgent requirement to produce sustainable design options
Along with the desire to be more environmentally aware, we are noticing clients are moving house less and investing in their ‘forever homes.’ There is a shift towards ‘buying once’ and buying quality that will last a lifetime. This is leading trends in interiors with antique pieces and artisan-crafted furnishings taking centre-stage.

I am launching an online design course in 2024
We are excited to be using cutting-edge appliance technologies and carbon-neutral finishes, including Linoleum kitchen doors, to complement the Baufritz build. I have been a keynote speaker on kitchen design at the Homebuilding and Renovating Shows for the past 15 years and look forward to speaking at their events again this year. I am also launching an online design course in 2024 to share my knowledge of design with those looking to embark on a kitchen/ build project.
