When it comes to interior design, achieving a natural result means choosing and working with a professional who understands how to harmonise with the environment. This principle was exemplified in the recent transformation of a house in Nice by Allegra Garrone from the studio Garrone Architetti. At first glance, the space appears minimalist, almost neutral, but the choice of materials ensured that the sense of warmth and welcome was not compromised. Much of the credit for this goes to the choice of Dekton Pietra Kode as the main ally.
According to Garrone, the Pietra Kode collection was chosen for its “remarkable versatility” and “excellent performance from a technical point of view”, which allowed it to be used almost without restriction in the various facets of the project. As always, environmental awareness is key, so the choice was also influenced by the material’s ability to harmonise with the natural hues of the Côte d’Azur, reflecting the sandy beaches and coastal cliffs in the design.
Cohesion and continuity for a harmonious aesthetic
One of the most appreciated aspects of this project is the way in which the material has been used on all the surfaces of the house, creating cohesion and continuity, and giving the space a unified aesthetic. Particularly in the bathrooms, the continuous use of Pietra Kode from floor to countertop contributes to a sense of spaciousness and unity, eliminating visual barriers and maximising the perception of space.
The Dekton Pietra Kode colours, Nebbia and Marmorio, have been deliberately chosen to capture the colours of the coastal environment and to enhance the brightness and the overall atmosphere of the rooms. According to Garrone, “these light shades play a crucial role in creating a sense of openness and lightness in the space”.
The project was conceived as part of a property development that needed to balance sophistication and elegance with the tastes of a broad spectrum of people, all within a budget set by the customer. Garrone and his team were particularly drawn to the durability, strength and versatility of Dekton in this context, and intend to explore its use in outdoor environments for future projects.
