Welcome to Riley’s Fish & Steak, a 2022 Michelin Guide Recommended Restaurant located in the vibrant business district of Downtown Vancouver. The upscale establishment sits across from the harbor with stunning views of the North Shore Mountains, the perfect setting to enjoy a delicious meal in great company.
The existing space was very angular and the team had to work within the constraints of the previous layout. To combat this, they used Art Nouveau arches and curves in the millwork and lighting which not only softened the space but also added architectural relevance. The designer, Daniel Meloché Design, specified Dekton after seeing it used by a fellow designer in their home.
The unique matte finish of Dekton Laurent
The best-selling Laurent shade was the winner for its unique matte finish and smooth suede texture. The rich charcoal base tone of Laurent married with the vibrant gold veining was the perfect complement to the design palette and atmosphere of the establishment. Dekton’s durability, especially over natural stone, is ideal for commercial spaces with heavy foot traffic and exposure to constant activity.
Dekton Laurent can be appreciated on the entire bar surface (top and front) as well as the wine bar. Additionally, it is featured on the hostess stand, greeting guests as soon as they walk in.
Finally, Laurent was selected to clad the walls of the washroom. For ease of demolition, the team opted to cover the existing washroom wall tile with thin Dekton Laurent slabs, which provided a great fix both in terms of timing and budget for the overall project.
