In Moaña, a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, it rains on average 185 days a year. As a result, the humidity is around 80%, which gives us an idea of its weather. With all these factors in mind, when it came to designing a new two-storey building, the developer had it clear: the entrance had to be clad in a reliable, non porous, easy-to-clean and durable material.
Dekton, the material chosen by Davilago for the floor, walls and stairs at the entrance to the building, perfectly meets all these requirements. So much so, in fact, the rest of the stairs and landings also feature Dekton Soke, a colour that gives the space a contemporary and sophisticated look.
Dekton Soke for a sophisticated look with an industrial feel
Inspired by traditional cement floors, its pattern has been carefully designed. Soke features a background full of details crossed by realistic veins that blend seamlessly thanks to its wide range of greys.
Dekton Soke perfectly matches the white mortar and light-coloured joinery of the building’s interior, ensuring a long-lasting appearance for many decades to come. After all, it is not surprising that Cosentino’s ultra-compact stone – a carbon neutral product from cradle to grave – comes with a 25-year warranty.
Dekton, synonymous with durability
Davilago also highlights its ease of cleaning (a damp cloth is enough to make it as good as new), its beauty and a series of properties that make it unparalleled in durability: Dekton does not scratch, resists all kinds of stains (even those caused by acids), is impact resistant and offers high resistance to UV rays coming through the windows. All this makes it the perfect product for a space subject to heavy traffic and possible damage caused by daily use, removals, passing bikes and prams, etc.
Dekton can also withstand scratches, ice, thaw and even fire, although its most functional feature in a place like Moaña is probably its virtually zero water absorption. And if that’s not enough, it is possible to choose Dekton Soke with the innovative Grip+ treatment, which guarantees a non-slip surface. This makes it ideal for safety, preventing slipping when people enter the building wet from the outside.
