Mangum is a luxury community of townhomes located in the vibrant community of Downtown Durham, North Carolina. This exclusive enclave has six 3-story townhomes with a distinct contemporary style. These homes are the perfect amalgamation of design and style featuring top-tier amenities such as rooftop terraces, patios, elevators, and detached garages, to name a few. Today, we will explore these ultra modern homes and how Silestone and Dekton by Cosentino inspired them.
This complex was built and designed by Homes by Dickeron, a North Carolina-based custom home builder. Senior Designer Olivia Cerrillos was on a mission to demonstrate that contemporary interiors can be implemented softly as opposed to being cold and harsh. She was inspired by the Silestone Sunlit Days collection to create the warm and cool modern programming for this project. Silestone Arcilla Red is the star of the warm package and Silestone Cala Blue that focus on the cool package to match the building’s architectural style.
Sunlit Days is Silestone’s first carbon neutral collection inspired by the Mediterranean taking us on a sensory journey through light and color. Silestone Arcilla Red and Silestone Cala Blue, two colors from the collection, offered a way to bring Spanish contemporary style to downtown Durham. Silestone Arcilla Red is a deep earthy red that creates cozy and warm spaces while Silestone Cala Blue is a modern blue reminiscent of the sea.
The soft and sophisticated pigmented surfaces were ideal for the kitchen islands with dual countertop selections and thick mitered edges to create a waterfall and slightly raised seating area. The location offered a unique opportunity to showcase colored countertops drawing energy from Durham’s distinctive artistic vibe.
Additional Silestone and Dekton surfaces were selected for the homes, carefully chosen to complement the colorful kitchen countertops.
