A sophisticated touch with the beauty of quartz
The interior design project carried out by designer Selina Kazazoğlu for this luxurious house in Turkey has managed to create a sophisticated atmosphere in its large living room thanks to the use of natural stone. Specifically, the designer chose Prexury Classic Quartz to create a fantasy world in two areas: a bar counter filled with exquisite bottles of whisky and a sculptural creation in the TV area.
“I think the atmosphere created by the material, thanks to its transparent surface that can be backlit, and the harmony of the amber whisky bottles is visually impressive”, says Kazazoğlu. In addition, the stone used as a background in the TV area “reveals the colours bringing out the warmth of amber”, she adds.
“The whisky collection deserved to be displayed in the best possible way”, says the designer. The backlighting not only creates a cosy atmosphere, but also makes it possible to appreciate the colours of the bottles, as well as the differences between the different whiskies. “I was looking for a luminous finish to highlight the craftsmanship of the whisky glasses and decanter. The quartz piece not only met my needs, but added an original quality to my design”, she says. Indeed, craftsmanship is an aspect that the designer wanted to highlight. To this end, she used drawer rails and hinges with brass details, a precise and careful design to give a sense of harmony to the whole.
A wall with character
On the other hand, the wall with the TV features two panels of the same material, also backlit, which add a unique touch to the room. In this case, the subtlety of natural stone becomes the perfect backdrop for displaying small sculptural pieces, turning the living room into a showroom.
The advantages of natural stone
“The fact that quartz, a stone that is mined in small sizes, is delivered as a ready-to-use slab is a great advantage for both the process and my workmanship”, says the designer. Thanks to these features, Cosentino makes the work much easier and provides all the visual advantages of quartz. The timeless beauty of this stone is always a hit.
