An old house from the 60’s that has been completely renovated into a state-of-the-art home for a young couple. They knew they wanted the simplicity of Italian interior design without losing the Scandinavian essence, but they also knew they wanted functionality above all else.
And thanks to the work of Claus Møller from Olav Eriksen Interior, the kitchen becomes the perfect embodiment of these requirements. Møller had no hesitation in using Dekton for the project in order to fulfil the couple’s wishes.
Exclusivity without ostentation
“Dekton is a simple, minimalist choice that is exclusive without being flashy, and the dark, inviting Dekton Kelya harmonises effortlessly with floor tiles and matt linoleum surfaces. Its robustness, versatility and range of thicknesses allow us to integrate sinks, cooking areas and, in this case, a champagne cooler, elegantly and without compromising on style. A practical and timeless option for a young and vibrant home,” states Claus Møller, interior designer at Olav Eriksen Interior.
Three functional zones
The kitchen is remarkably spacious and also has an extra feature: huge windows that flood the entire room with natural light, allowing the use of dark colours without fear of making it look smaller, contributing to a very refined atmosphere.
It was decided to divide it into three functional zones: the cooking area with worktop, an island with a sink and, finally, a huge table. Everything is concealed, including the storage space and most of the appliances, which are arranged in an L-shape from the worktop.
