Unparalleled ocean views, pristine white walls, and graphite gray porcelain floors bring us to this stunning condominium on the shores of South Beach, one of the most bustling and sought-after neighborhoods in Miami. Designed by Michael Scigliano, Principal and Founder of MS2 Design Studio for one of his close friends, this ocean-front condo is the epitome of masculine and moody design with a chic spirit that does not compromise warmth or comfort.
The owner, a real estate developer and investor, purchased this property 20 years ago as a getaway home while he resided in New York City. The Miami condo has since become his primary residence and was due for an refresh. The complete renovation, conducted by MS2 Design Studio, touches everything from floors to ceilings, lighting, AC, plumbing, furnishings, and of course, the kitchen.
The homeowner entertains and hosts fundraisers and small get-togethers for friends, so a beautiful and functional kitchen was a must. The client expressed a desire for a marble look with little to no maintenance, which led Scigliano to specify Dekton Bergen. The light color and gray veining contrasts perfectly with the solid graphite tone of the porcelain floors.
The custom 3-meters island is the focal point of the home and acts as a division between the kitchen and living room. The island has solid concrete slab legs and a steel structure which makes Dekton appear to be floating. Today, guests can be seen gathering around the island to chat, mingle, and enjoy delicious food and drinks.
The home is a perfect representation of the clients style and personality, with an open kitchen that became the heart of the home.
Scigliano works with Dekton for nearly all his projects and cites it as a popular material among his clientele. He also frequents the Cosentino City showroom in Miami, where he is able to visualize the abundance of colors and textures in person.
