Aesthetic medicine clinics have undergone a transformation in recent years, evolving from cold and impersonal spaces to warm and welcoming environments where patients feel surrounded by an aura of attention and care. So much so that many of them are now featured in architecture and interior design publications, thanks to their decorative solutions and refined aesthetics. One such example is Mougins, located in the commune of the same name near Cannes. Here, the Atelier Parfait architects have created a bright two-storey building with large windows and transformed it into a haven of well-being with a modern yet timeless style in neutral and warm colours.
The firm, which works mainly on the French Riviera, aims to ensure that its projects respect and seamlessly integrate with the natural environment. This is evident in the clinic’s façade, which combines white with the immaculate gravel that covers the site, decorated with olive trees and other Mediterranean plants. In this way, the building seems to blend invisibly into its surroundings, as its aesthetics is perfectly integrated into the environment.
Inside, however, the architects’ style can be fully appreciated, which is characterised by balanced and perfectly optimised spaces. The interplay of natural and artificial lighting they have designed is also striking, contributing to the creation of a welcoming atmosphere.
Furthermore, the professionals have incorporated touches of traditional Japanese style. In fact, they are demonstrating their expertise in Feng Shui, an ancient Eastern philosophical system based on the conscious and harmonious use of space, to have a positive effect on the patients and staff of this clinic. It all adds up to a warm and relaxing effect.
An antibacterial, durable and aesthetically pleasing marble-like worktop
Atelier Parfait also played with volumes and materials in this project, ensuring that wood and stone were the dominant features, giving the space its minimalist purity. For example, they used Silestone Desert Silver for around twenty worktops, with and without integrated sinks, in the consultation areas. This colour evokes an icy surface punctuated by fine grey veins, offering a highly balanced and uniform translucent pattern inspired by the marbling trend.
The creamy grey shade was chosen because it fits in perfectly with the clinic’s mineral and soft universe, and Silestone proved to be a very practical choice because of its extreme hygiene, as it is a non-porous and antibacterial surface. It can withstand the knocks, shocks and wear and tear of everyday use in a clinic and will always retain its integrity (with a 25-year warranty).
At Mougins, the different Silestone finishes have been used to great effect, sometimes choosing the matt finish, which has a silky feel, and sometimes the polished finish, which absorbs and reflects light, multiplying it.
Another positive aspect for Atelier Parfait was Silestone’s Hybriq Technology, which makes this product one of the most environmentally friendly on the market. This means that the Silestone composition contains a minimum of 20% recycled material, and its production uses 100% recycled water and 99% renewable energy.
