We saw people falling in love with biophilic designs, colour blocking and geometric patterns” shared Naythan. Biophilic Design has begun to flourish among designers, both seasoned and emerging. Nature-inspired reigns supreme as designers, homeowners, and businesses gravitate towards bringing the outdoors in. From lush greenery, earthy colours and sustainable materials, “there's a noticeable trend toward integrating natural elements into design practices, driven by a heightened awareness of limited resources. This inclination towards incorporating nature into both interior design and architecture is emblematic of a broader commitment to creating aesthetically pleasing and environmentally conscious spaces.” according to Norman. He also aims to consistently integrate biophilic elements into his designs, incorporating more nature-inspired features and refined material selections without overwhelming the overall aesthetic in his future designs.
Embracing Natural Hues That Can Easily Be Adapted To Any Space
For the Living Room:
Norman is particularly drawn to Eclectic Pearl from the Silestone Le Chic collection. It’s a classic and modern perfect fusion with flowing streams of delicate tones encrusted with grains like diamonds on jewellery. He finds it very versatile and suitable for any space. The colour with a hint of marbling and natural stone texture elements makes it adaptable. Personally, Norman envisions using it in common areas like the flooring of his house. Its neutral tone of Electic Pearl would effortlessly complement any furniture or nature-inspired decor he decides to bring in later, allowing statement pieces to shine without being overshadowed by the flooring choice.
For the Bathroom:
Bohemian Flame from the Silestone Le Chic collection caught Norman’s attention the most “due to its luxurious vibe, which is subtle compared to some other black marbles with goldish marbling that can be loud or in-your-face” shared Norman. This colour presents subtle sinuous veins with metallic inlays in copper shades, reminiscent of the calmly moving golden flame of candles accentuating tiny metallic pieces. Norman would consider applying Bohemian Flame to elevate the design of the master bathroom. Even in a simple setting, when combined with dim lighting on the walls and floors, this exquisite hue has the potential to transform the ambience. The addition of potted plants or greenery can further introduce a touch of vibrancy and tranquillity to the space.
For the Kitchen:
Naythan highlights that Romantic Ash from the Silestone Le Chic collection is his top pick as it can suit any style and mood. This deep black hue with subtle silver sparkles is reminiscent of large rivers and incrustations of grains in various sizes awaken memories of a milky way visible on a clear starry sky. Naythan suggests that incorporating it as a countertop for the kitchen island would be able to create a stunning contrast with white cabinets and wood floors. According to him, this choice will be able to “add a touch of glamour and drama to any space, while also being durable and easy to maintain”.
Norman envisions Brass Relish from the Silestone Urban Crush collection as his personal preference for the kitchen. He shared, “Its versatility in effortlessly complementing various colours is what appeals to me”. He imagines implementing it for the kitchen countertop and backsplash. The grained brown of Brass Relish blends seamlessly with the colours and design elements of modern vintage style. According to Norman, this sophisticated elegant colour sits in the ideal middle ground—neither too dark nor too light.
