Cosentino Design Challenge 17 announces its winners

  • CDC 17 has the collaboration of more than 40 schools and universities around the world.
  • This edition has received a total of 402 projects, 127 in the Architecture category and 265 in the Design category, from different countries in Europe, America and Asia.

Cosentino Group announces the jury's decision for the seventeenth edition of the Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC).

The meeting and the decision of the jury of this competition took place yesterday at Cosentino City Malaga (Spain). This year, the face-to-face jury was consisted of professors Juan L. Santos, from School of Art and Higher Design of Zamora (Spain); Itsaso Recalde Mugueta, School of Art and Design of Pamplona; Isik Ülkün Neusser, from Izmir Economy University (Turkey); Jorge Roa, Higher Technical School of Architecture of Sevilla (ETSAS); and Julián Galindo, from Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB).

Santiago Alfonso, Vice-president of Communication and Corporate Reputation of Cosentino Group, acted as president of the jury, which also had the outstanding participation of the architect and designer Paco Lago, from the Paco Lago Interioriza studio.

402 proposals submitted

CDC 17 received a total of 402 projects, 127 in the Architecture category and 265 in the Design category, from different countries in Europe, America and Asia.

6 projects have emerged as winners, 3 have been selected for the Design category and other three for the Architecture category, which will be awarded 1,000 euros each. Both Design and Architecture sections also has threes runners-up prizes severally, which will receive a diploma.

  • Back to the roots (ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica Madrid)
  • Torre Cosentino (ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica Madrid)

Three runners-up prizes, awarded with a diploma

  • In-Out and Viceversa (Escuela Artediez Madrid)
  • Pentadek (Escuela de Artes de Jerez)
  • On Balance (ETS Arquitectura Zaragoza UNIZAR)
