Cosentino launches the 18th edition of Cosentino Design Challenge

Yesterday Cosentino City Madrid hosted the official launch event of the 18th edition of the international Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC). During the event, the two themes that the participants (architecture and design students from all over the world) will need to research in order to develop inspiring projects were announced. Once again this year, the CDC jury will be looking for proposals with a focus on sustainability, the life-changing capacity of design, creativity and innovation.

CDC 18 Themes and Schedule

In the Design category, the theme will be “Cosentino and Water”, with the aim to examine current and future uses and challenges, from sustainable management and conservation to scarcity and creative, innovative proposals. In the Architecture category, the theme is based on claim “Cosentino and Eternity”, where a challenge is launched to exploring how architecture can commemorate memory in the context of death and farewell.

CDC leaves students free to develop their projects with the only requirement that the final project includes some of the innovative surfaces that Cosentino offers to architecture and design: Silestone®, Dekton® and/or Sensa by Cosentino®. Details of the programme and submission format are explained in more detail here.

The submission period starts on next 1 October 2023 and ends on 1 June 2024. For each category, there will be 3 first prizes of €1,000 each, 3 runners-up, and special mentions considered by the jury. Find out all the details at cosentinodesignchallenge.org/en/18th-edition/
