Cosentino is proud to be an official supplier for season nineteen of “The Block”.

Australia’s favourite DIY renovation show The Block celebrates its twentieth year since first airing in 2003. For those who love and watch it, this year's show takes place in Melbourne’s Bayside suburb of Hampton East. Located in a charming street, appropriately named Charming St, the contestants have been tasked with renovating five houses from the 1950s, into stunning contemporary homes.

With the show in full swing, we have proudly partnered and supplied the five couples with our product range; helping them manifest their vision, and this week, execute their dream kitchen. Judge Darren Palmer quotes, "This season has probably been one of the more difficult to judge. Each of the houses are so different, the floor plans are so different, and the spaces are all unique."

Trust us when we say that no kitchen’s attention to detail was left unturned, pairing our stone with  Kinsman’s masterful cabinetry in each house.

If you’re amidst a renovation, working towards one or just an avid fan, we thought we would share the inside scoop on each couple's inspiration behind their kitchens.

House 1 - Kyle and Leslie

Kyle and Leslie’s luxury kitchen design celebrates natural beauty. Modern styling with gentle nods to mid-century design, the colour palette is both warm and inviting. The kitchen island bench is made from Dekton Sabbia. This 3.5-metre island provides the perfect space for guests and family to gather, whilst providing a seamless cleaning zone with an integrated built-in sink, dishwasher, and hidden bin. Dekon Sabbia is also used on the waterfall, splashback, butler and laundry. Organic detail is seen throughout, with the waterfall design of the kitchen island mimicking the archways leading through to the butler’s pantry.

House 2 - Leah and Ash

“We wanted to create a kitchen that is bold, sophisticated, and functional. We love to inject colour into our designs, and this was no exception, we really wanted to create a wow factor as we know that kitchens sell houses,” quote contestants Leah and Ash.

The curved kitchen island bench made from Sensa Vancouver extends three metres, providing plenty of storage and seating space for families. Sensa Vancouver is also extended onto splashbacks. A true entertainer’s kitchen, the room offers several cooking appliances, including two ovens below the cooktop.

House 4 - Steph and Gian

Drawing upon a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian influence, Steph and Gian wanted to create a serene, minimalist style that blended neutral tones with texture to produce something special. The Cosentino stone has a natural and organic feel with its soft, imperfect veins. Sensa Taj Mahal is used on the kitchen bench island that spans three metres and provides a seating nook and additional storage. Soft, creamy countertops also using Sensa Taj Mahal have been extended onto the splashbacks, creating a seamless look throughout. Cosentino Dekton Zenith is used in the laundry.

House 5 - Eliza and Liberty

Eliza and Liberty’s kitchen dares to be bold. The orange Smeg Portofino Freestanding Cooker with matching Canopy Rangehood is the central focal point within the layout and really does draw the attention of the room.

Perfect open plan living, the L-shaped design allows for plenty of space and flow, as well as room for a stunning four-metre-long island bench crafted from Cosentino Dekton’s latest collection Pietra Kode Vk04 Grafite. Dekton Vk04 Grafite is continued across the two splashback zones, highlighting the bar area and cooking zone perfectly. The overall feel is clean, modern and sophisticated, and was the judges winning kitchen, scoring a perfect ten from Neale Whitaker.
