Kitchens rule in House Rules

width=House Rules is back on Channel Seven for its sixth season and Cosentino is proud and excited to have a supporting role. We are the official stone supplier to Kinsman Kitchens, House Rules’ kitchen and laundry supplier of choice.

House Rules is the hit Australian reality TV series that puts seven teams through the ultimate renovation challenge. Each week, one team hands over the keys to their home, leaving their competitors to transform it in just seven days, guided by five House Rules. Host Johanna Griggs is joined by international designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, award-winning Australian architect and builder Drew Heath, and style and design expert Wendy Moore for the judging honours.

Each week the teams are designated a zone to transform. Kinsman Kitchens is the House Rules supplier of choice for kitchen and laundries, with stone benchtops from Cosentino’s new Silestone® Eternal Range. As each kitchen and laundry is renovated in a different style, the Eternal Range provides contestants with variety of colours to choose from for benchtop and splashback applications.

House Rules continuously produces epic challenges that result in modern and innovative kitchen designs, as the team’s first trial demonstrated. Before they set to work on each other’s houses, they worked together to flip a “renovator’s delight” in Rosebery, Sydney. The brief called for “contemporary luxury” and the kitchen and laundry team used Calacatta Gold benchtops in the kitchen and Statuario in the laundry. As the Eternal Range is inspired by natural stone, Calacatta Gold reproduces the elegant white marble with grey, blue and golden veins, and Statuario is a loyal interpretation of Carrara marble with grey and pink veins over a bluish background.

They were a great choice for the renovation as judge Llewelyn-Bowen commented that the kitchen “is adding zeros to the house.” Indeed, the teams’ efforts paid off at auction with the house selling for $1.605 million, making a cool $355,000 profit and prize money for this year’s House Rules winners.

Silestone® by Cosentino is the exclusive benchtop partner for Kinsman, which is available in 30 Good Guys stores across the eastern seaboard. Silestone® is one of Cosentino’s high-performance quartz surfaces, made from up to 90 per cent natural stone. The Eternal Range is available in a polished or suede finish, which offers the extra matte and velvety look and feel of natural stone with the unbeatable performance and resistance of the Silestone® quartz surface. As a less porous and longer lasting surface than marble and granite, Silestone® is a great choice for renovation projects that need to go the distance.
