The leading ultra-compact surface for the world of architecture and design, Dekton® by Cosentino was the material of choice for the worktop of the GranGusto kitchen created by the French designer, Marc Sadler in collaboration with the Italian furniture maker, Riva 1920 for the Milan Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2018.

GranGusto is a spectacular semi-professional kitchen made up of a wide variety of high-quality elements, contrasting the traditional art of carpentry of Riva 1920 with next-generation, advanced materials such as the ultra-compact surface Dekton® and appliances from the respected Wolf and Sub-Zero brands.

"

Recognising that we invest a considerable amount of time and energy in to choosing a kitchen that best expresses who we are, our likes and our needs, Riva 1920 offers modular hardwood kitchens that combine stunning aesthetics with high-quality and durable properties, offering styles ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. The GranGusto kitchen, designed in collaboration with French designer, Marc Sadler, exemplifies the best of design: a space with unbroken lines that stretch and flow, with worktops at a comfortable height for the user, combining both beauty and practicality.

Contrasting against the wooden cabinetry, the impressive worktop has been created using the ultra-compact surface Dekton® Sirius, catching the eye with its intense dark finish. Thanks to its superb technical properties, such as a high resistance to stains, scratches, heat and cold, the revolutionary surface Dekton® completes this project perfectly.

"

The GranGusto kitchen features a central island combining a hardwood panel resting on a steel frame. Its special geometry allows a number of separate wooden stools to nestle under it, also crafted by Riva 1920. A unique dual-purpose structure hangs over it, providing illumination and a rack for glasses. The play of light created by this element adds interest to the space, and creates a central focal point.

"

The design also incorporates two original, fun elements. Two wooden blocks with different uses: one, in a more traditional style, is used to prepare and cut meat, while the second, in a more French style, is equipped with a drawer and knife block which serves as a work island.
