BackOn land somewhat separated from the beach and close to the mangrove, the small intimate hotel "has its own water landscape." Three elongated single-level volumes form its characteristic sunken inner courtyard. For these the architects drew from the palapa of the Mayas, with its simple and clear construction of sticks or tree trunks, and its wooden roofs covered with palms, freeing the walls of structural loads.
The lowered inner patio is what gives the hotel its identity, with steps leaving straight down to it from the rooms, into which water flows, so circulations elements are moved to the perimeter of the triangular complex. The building was thought out with the idea of clients being able to enjoy the special experience of resting under a palapa built with cedarwood and covered with palms.
