Cosentino & Expormim: A Sensational Singapore Showcase
Running from 6 to 12 July 2023, the Cosentino & Expormim exhibition sees the Cosentino City Singapore showroom decked out with the leading Spanish furniture brand’s latest and greatest pieces, most of which are crafted using Cosentino’s ultra-compact stone Dekton®, showcasing the best of both the architectural surfaces and furniture worlds.
Brought together by their shared values and Spanish heritage, Cosentino and Expormim started their collaboration in 2016, where the furniture brand started incorporating Dekton® into its table collections.
The collaboration has expanded Expormim’s technical abilities, as well as the finishing options and distinguishability of its products, as well as showcasing Dekton® 's versatility beyond the architectural application – a match made in design heaven that has taken the value of designs for both brands to a new height.
These are displayed together with Expormim’s latest seating collection, including Norm Architects’ Cask collection debuted in Milan Design Week earlier this year. Presiding over the main room at Cosentino City Singapore, the Cask Sofa is made of rattan sourced from Indonesia.
“We are the only brand in Europe that produces furniture using natural rattan,” said Javier Bonillo, Area General Manager of Expormin, who flew down from Valencia, Spain to Singapore for the exhibition’s opening.
The opening night was attended by industry and media friends, who mingled while appreciating the furniture pieces and their craftsmanship. “Cosentino is all about simplicity and understated elegance,” commented architect Peter Tay during the evening.
Asked about the appeal of Dekton as furniture finishes, Erricson Wong, founder of Expormim’s official Singapore retailer Made & Make, said, “The versatility of the materials. You can have the Dekton top in a variety of colours and shapes.” The Expormim collection so far has featured six beloved Dekton® colours: Danae, Kelya, Albarium, Argentium, Umber and Micron. But the brand also offers customisation with other Dekton® colours.
