Cosentino opens its remarkable new London ‘City’

• The company has relocated its London showroom from Clerkenwell to nearby Hatton Garden making it the impressive flagship of its “Cosentino City” model.

• With over 420 sqm of surface inspiration, spanning across three floors, Cosentino City London will become a central design hub for the city’s architects and designers.

Cosentino, global leader in producing innovative and sustainable surfaces for architecture and design, officially launches its new London showroom. The company has relocated its London showroom from Clerkenwell, which opened its doors in 2016, to Hatton Garden, one of the most iconic and picturesque areas of the city with a rich heritage of design.

The opening of the new “Cosentino City London” follows a flurry of new showroom openings in Lisbon, São Paulo and Istanbul. Standing prominently on London’s busy Holborn Circus at one end of the city’s famous jewellery and art district, this new showroom is one of the most updated within the current “Cosentino’s City” model, becoming a flagship for future “Citys”.

The site sits on a former bank and has been transformed with an extensive fit-out conducted by the Cosentino Design Team, whilst retaining much of the beautiful details of the original space. Based over three floors (lower ground, ground and mezzanine floors with terrace space), the showroom stretches to over 420 sq. meters and is one of the largest ‘Citys’ in the Cosentino portfolio.

With an advanced and aesthetically beautifully designed layout, the showroom features all the characteristics and functionalities of a “Cosentino City” whilst pushing the boundaries of digitisation. Offering a truly personalised service, the "City" aids project specification with the Atelier Lab, an environment crafted to allow visitors to experiment with Silestone®, Dekton® and Sensa® samples plus other materials such as brassware, fabrics, glass and more.

It also offers a state-of-the-art to-scale full-slab digital display which showcases a variety of finishes to be viewed at the touch of a button. Promoting the multi-surface qualities of the products, the showroom features a facades solutions mock-up, alongside bathroom, flooring, kitchen and furniture applications.

As the new space is exceptionally airy and spacious, it will provide the perfect backdrop for industry events and networking opportunities. It will serve the design community as a major local creative hub, where professionals can be inspired, educated and better connected in the coworking-inspired spaces with likeminded design enthusiasts and brands. Cosentino City London will therefore be the brand’s UK event hub, with an extensive schedule of events in place, including exhibitions, roundtables, supper clubs, CPDs, and industry parties. The equipment and decoration of the space also has solutions from leading firms such as Vibia, Missana, Gancedo, Planika, Dornbracht or Naturtex.

The New London “City” inauguration event took place yesterday with the attendance of numerous clients, collaborators and architecture and design professionals from the city. On behalf of the company were present Eduardo Cosentino, VP Global Sales of Cosentino Group and CEO of Cosentino North America; Pedro Parra, VP Sales Europe; Santiago Alfonso, VP Global Communication & Corporate Reputation; Paul Gidley, UK Regional Director; Steve Isaac, General Manager; and much of A&D, commercial and the City team leading by Clément Bour, London City Manager.

“The intention is for this space, which is extraordinary in attracting walk-ins and professionals, to be used by all Cosentino staff and customers from across the UK. We have this wonderful facility now and so it will be important for us to use it as extensively as possible”, according to Clément Bour, London City Manager.

Cosentino was established in the United Kingdom in 2002 through its subsidiary Cosentino UK, and was the second one of the group in Europe. With two first “Centers” located on the outskirts of London and Manchester respectively, in 2009 expanded its presence to Gloucester, near the Welsh border. In later years, the current England map of “Centers” (6) was completed with Hook, Darlington and Newmarket warehouses. The UK diffusion was completed with “Centers” in Belfast (Northern Ireland) and Livingston (Scotland).
