Milano Design Week and Salone del Mobile are events that design enthusiasts cannot afford to miss due to their immense prestige around the world. This year, the highly anticipated Milano Design Week returns to the international calendar with renewed strength and in conjunction with the Fuorisalone and Salone del Mobile, which celebrates its 60th edition this year and reflects its commitment to the ecological transition of the furniture system. The theme of this edition will focus on the changes taking place in the world to achieve sustainability goals that allow us to look to the future.
Thus, Cosentino as global leader in the production and distribution of innovative and sustainable surfaces returns once again and takes part in this outstanding gathering with a full programme of events, introductions and presence at the Fair. Cosentino’s robust agenda will be centered in three main scenarios: a stand at the S.Project Fair (Rho Fiera Milano) as well as presence throughout Salone via collaborations with other companies; projects highlighted at Fuorisalone; and a complete line-up of activities at Cosentino City Milano.
S.Project and Salone del Mobile
Cosentino is at S.Project (Hall 13 - Stand H12), the exhibition dedicated to design products and decorative and technical solutions for interior design. The stand welcomes the 2022 novelties of the ultracompact surface Dekton® -the collections Kraftizen & Onirika-, as well as the sustainability revolution of HybriQ+® technology for Silestone® that will be shown through the new Silestone® Bathroom Collection, and finally flooring and wall cladding applications.
The stand will host an official opening event on June 7 at 4pm with the outstanding presence of Joe Bastianich, the new Brand ambassador of Cosentino Italy. Bastianich is an Italian-American entrepreneur and chef, and well-known television personality who has served as a judge for various local and international cooking shows, including Masterchef Italy and Masterchef USA. Bastianich will be in charge of endorsing and communicating Cosentino's novelties, and the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Cosentino's presence at the Fair is completed, as in previous editions, with the participation and product placement with other leading international firms. Thus, visitors will be able to appreciate different Silestone®, Dekton® or Sensa by Cosentino® kitchen worktops at the Antares, Doimo Cucine, Scavolini, Rossana and Walserkuchen stands - all of them at Eurocucina- and also at the Riva 1920 proposal at S.Project. Fuorisalone 2022
Three outstanding projects will have the collaboration and sponsorship of Cosentino at Fuorisalone, which this year will once again fill the city of Milano with installations, challenging proposals and design.
FRAMES, with studio VGA and Meliá Milano
Vittorio Grassi Architects presents FRAMES, a special installation designed for the spaces of Meliá Milano Masaccio: a temporary architecture of great impact articulated in three rooms where optical illusions, space alterations and perspective games are at stake. The project ideally takes its inspiration from the concept of the new restyling of the hotel, followed by Alvaro Sans and Vittorio Grassi Architects, which are reinterpreted with an unexpected twist.
FRAMES plays with the concept of stability, which is traditionally linked to that of normality, giving a glance at the continuous transformations to which we have become accustomed in recent years, and suggesting a new point of view, original and ironic, to face the “next normal” with resilience. Cosentino is a sponsor of the installation and provides several surfaces of Silestone® Eternal (Marquina and Calacatta Gold colors), Ethereal Noctis, and also Dekton® Laurent and Trillium.
DIVIDED LAYERS, with Kohler and Daniel Arsham
Another highly anticipated proposal at Fuorisalone is presented by Kohler, a global brand leader in kitchen and bath products, in partnership with artist-designer Daniel Arsham. Kohler's FuoriSalone exhibition features a large-scale immersive art experience, entitled "Divided Layers" a site-specific installation that builds upon the duo's release of Rock.01 – a 3D printed sink designed by Daniel Arsham in collaboration with Kohler in 2021.
Onsite, the brand will create an exclusive café experience for guests, collaborating with Cosentino to fit the space with Dekton® material in Kelya and Kreta colors and also withSilestone Charcoal Soapstone color.
MASTERLY – The Dutch in Milano, with Pillen Group
Already a classic of Cosentino's participation in MDW and Fuorisalone, Masterly–The Dutch in Milano celebrates its sixth edition once again at the historic headquarters of Palazzo Francesco Turati (Via Meravigli, 7). An impressive exhibition curated and founded by Nicole Uniquole, that again welcomes Dutch designers, artists, artisans, and best design companies.
Within the multiple proposals and spaces that make up Masterly, the Cosentino Netherlands team collaborates again with the Pillen Group, a worldwide player in the manufacturing industry. Pillen Group will be exhibiting stunning outdoor kitchens on the Palazzo ground floor patio, as part of one of the dynamic three-part setting of this space. The design outdoor kitchens displays the design and high performances of Dekton® Zenith and Laurent in their development.
Cosentino City Milano
Located close to the city centre in Piazza Fontana 6, Cosentino City Milano is a space entirely dedicated to the architecture and design community and will once again be the meeting point for the media, as well as Cosentino’s clients and collaborators from all over the world. The City presents a dynamic program of events and introductions that will kick off on Monday, June 6 at 12:30 p.m. with a press conference dedicated to the new 2022 Dekton® collections.
On Tuesday, June 7 at 7 pm, Joe Bastianich will join once again as official judge to present the 12 finalists of “Let's Design - Design in Dekton®”, an initiative promoted by Cosentino Italy aimed at interior designers and architects of all ages and nationalities operating in the country to deepen the issues related to the transformation of the home spaces.
At Friday 10 there will be a unique première of the new collection of renowned Dutch designer Remy Meijers. He will launch the new collection of the Scondido washbasin range, which he has designed exclusively for Cosentino. Two new washbasin models in the CO2-neutral Silestone Sunlit Days collection in the colors Cala Blue and Cincel Grey will be revealed in Cosentino City Milano.
