In the apartment in Oslo where the artist, composer and children's book author, Ben Adams, lives with his family, the layout caused. In order to get to the master bedroom, one had to go through the bathroom. The change has resulted in two compact bathrooms where Dekton from Cosentino really plays a main role.
Before starting the big change, Ben did some good research. There were other apartments in the same building that had found solutions to exactly the same problem. By looking at other people's new bathrooms, he and his wife, Sara Skjoldnes Adams, found what they believe to be the optimal solution - together with entrepreneur Hussain El Haddaoui, known as @husseinfikser on Instagram.
“I got to see our neighbors’ new bathrooms. That gave me some important tips on what I think could work for us and what wouldn't. It helped create optimal utilization of the area”, says Ben.
Good experience from their own cabin
A few years ago, the Adams family built a lovely cabin in Tuddal, Norway, where all three wet rooms and the kitchen were covered with surfaces from Cosentino. Having experienced the quality of Dekton, made the choice for the two new bathrooms easy. Both the floor and the walls in their new bathrooms at home are covered with Dekton.
“We are so happy with the tiles on the floor and the walls covering in the bathrooms in the cabin, so there was no reason to look for something else now”, says Ben.
Selected colors for each bathroom
With two bathrooms, Ben and Sara have selected colors for each bathroom. Ben went for Dekton Kelya on the floor, which is inspired by black marble with light veins. On the wall is Dekton Rem, an elegant white stone inspired by Calacatta Lincoln marble. The bathroom furniture from Scala Bad also has a surface from Dekton in the color Entzo, which has taken its inspiration from Calacatta Gold.
Sara, on the other hand, went for a brighter feeling. The sought-after color Dekton Arga with a glossy surface in the shower area goes well with the color Dekton Albarium on the walls and floor. Dekton Albarium has a toned-down expression of a plastered surface, in a calm powdery white color inspired by marble dust. The bathroom furniture is also from Scala bad, with a worktop from Dekton Marmorio, which harmonizes nicely with the other colors.
The surfaces are cut in 70 x 70 cm tiles at Cosentino's factory in Spain, and installed by the craftsmen of the @husseinfikser team. The slatted wall is provided by Fritzøe Engros and installed by Møbelsnekkerne. The nice taps from Tapwell complete the look of the new favorite rooms.
"Now one can enjoy the bath, while another uses the other bathroom, without us getting stuck in our own bedroom. It is especially practical when family and friends stays for several days. We are very happy about the upgrade, which has made everything easier for us”, says Ben.
