Seville has a unique colour and the Cavalta Boutique Hotel embodies them all. Estudio Chico Muñoz undertook the complete refurbishment of a residential building in a distinctly regionalist style in the heart of Seville’s Triana district. It was quite a challenge, as the studio admits: “Apart from the façade, which dates back to 1929, the entire building was reconstructed from scratch, including the excavation of the basement”. The result is enchanting – an accommodation that smells of orange blossom and is flavoured with rebujito, exuding all the charm and essence of Seville, but with a contemporary design that does not compromise on comfort or trends.

Throughout this far from easy journey, Estudio Chico Muñoz relied on Cosentino, using Dekton and some of its finishes. “Working with Cosentino was the perfect combination of classic and modern. This is the essence of Cavalta, a building in which you can see the harmonious coexistence of materials such as wood or original vaulted ceilings with a greyish hue veined with modern, ultra-compact stone”. It’s pure art.

Meticulous decoration and culinary venues

The hotel boasts 12 meticulously decorated rooms and a range of culinary venues for a unique dining experience, including an exclusive restaurant, cocktail bar and rooftop Garden Club with outdoor swimming pool. Dekton finishes can be found in virtually every room, “because of its groundbreaking aesthetics, as well as its versatility and durability. The different thicknesses make it easy to adapt the material to any space, playing with the same colour palette. The durability and ease of cleaning, thanks to its almost zero porosity, were paramount for applications in high-traffic areas,” the studio asserts.

For this reason, Dekton Laos was used for all of the cladding in the bathroom areas. The vertical walls were clad in 4 mm, while the floor and shower tray were clad in 8 mm. The washbasins, in the same colour, are of the Reflection model, with towel rails on the skirt.

Meanwhile, Dekton Sasea in 12 mm thickness is used on the terrace, providing an ideal access flooring solution to conceal the many installations typical of a building dedicated to this purpose. The same material is used to clad the swimming pool, ensuring continuity in the space, where Dekton gives off a warm light.

In the Balbuena y Huertas restaurant, Dekton Laurent is featured on the main bar and the round coffee tables, offering a bold colour that contrasts with the original hydraulic flooring. Here, the central round table next to the wine bar is made from Dekton Awake in a high gloss finish to enhance the lighting and create an elegant and refined atmosphere.

The highest levels of quality and avant-garde design are the hallmarks of DROMOS, the new AEDAS residential complex in Seville. The prestigious developer has chosen the boulevard of Mairena del Aljarafe for its new complex, consisting of 38 homes with 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms, communal gardens, swimming pool, community room, storage rooms…

The building also stands out for its highly customisable interiors, with a choice of colours and materials in the kitchen, a high level of home automation and the availability of charging points for electric cars. In fact, DROMOS’s approach to sustainability is another one of its highlights: not only is the building powered by renewable energy sources, but it also has underfloor heating in the bathrooms, aerothermal heating, room climate control, and the façade of the terraces is clad in Dekton.

Cladding that contributes to sustainability

This Cosentino surface is a carbon neutral product for its entire life cycle. This means that, right from the extraction of the raw material, only the most demanding, efficient and environmentally friendly processes are used, and that the greenhouse gases generated are offset by investing in UN-backed offset projects.

Furthermore, its high resistance to UV rays, scratches, frost, thawing and even fire, together with its low water absorption rate, ensure a pristine appearance for many years to come. This surface, which combines low maintenance and a long service life, is also beneficial to the environment.

Safety and sustainability for terrace façades

“We chose Dekton for two main reasons: its excellent performance in façade applications, due to its almost zero porosity, and its availability in large format slabs, which allowed us to achieve the aesthetics we were looking for. Other parameters, such as fire classification, were also important in the choice of material, given the intended use,” says Ámbito Arquitectura, the studio responsible for the design.

Large format Dekton Sasea and Dekton Kreta slabs were used for the cladding of the entire external façade in the terrace area. This was achieved by using a cement-based adhesive system with a minimum of 3 mm joint between the different coloured pieces, giving the cladding a very interesting visual continuity. This system features a concealed safety fixing by means of a rear groove in the slabs, which ensures that they remain in place in the event of adhesive failure. It also offers high impact resistance, easy cleaning and simple maintenance in a high traffic area of the building.

Before choosing Dekton, the experts discarded many products that did not meet the necessary requirements for maximum safety and durability. “Aesthetics is the first thing that catches the eye, but after the first impression it is necessary that the material meets all the requirements set by the project management,” they say.

An eye-catching and elegant look thanks to Dekton Sasea and Kreta

From an aesthetic point of view, the elegant cladding in Dekton Sasea and Dekton Kreta is the perfect calling card for the high level of quality that DROMOS, a complex designed for the most demanding customers, also offers in its interiors.

Inspired by Sahel limestone, Dekton Sasea features an elegant cream-grey background, full of detail, yet soft and gentle. Meanwhile, Dekton Kreta is inspired by traditional cement floors and its matt, homogeneous and restrained design, – with darker or lighter areas depending on the density of the pattern –, exudes an air of serenity

“We are very pleased with the results we have achieved by working with the large format and the colours chosen,” says the studio. The professionals highlight the versatility, ease of cleaning, low maintenance and ease of installation. “All materials were delivered to the site in an organised and timely manner. In addition, we used a company recommended by Cosentino, which, together with the support they gave us on site, was reflected in the final result.”

Interior designer and building architect Memmu Pitkänen loves practicality and carefully thought out interior solutions. She lives in a detached house in Pohtola, Tampere, with her husband and two teenage children. The house is a white-plastered brick house by the lake, completed in 1990. The views from the windows are the most amazing feature of the house, and she wanted to bring this nature effect to the interior design as well.

The family moved into the house in the summer of 2022 and they renovated all the interior surfaces to match the modern interior. They invested the most in the new kitchen because it is the most important and used space in their home. The kitchen had to be beautiful, practical and time-resistant.

Kitchen producer Novart's Nordic Nature kitchen was love at first sight. The warm, brown shade of wood and the vertically grooved cabinet doors were also the inspiration for other interiors, such as the batten-panel walls and the 'flutes' glass used in the bathrooms.

Memmu tell us: “Trine Katajisto from Novart drew kitchen pictures for me. The kitchen is part of Novart's new Nordic Nature collection. In addition to the actual kitchen, I also got a wine cabinet set in the dining area, which used the same Nordic Nature display case glass and the same stone as the kitchen.”

Memmu continues: ”for theworktops , I chose Dekton Helena, which in terms of tone matched the whole. This material came not only to the worktops, but also to the intermediate space, that is, very visibly. The island furniture has a rounded Nordic Nature corner and of course the level was rounded at the same time. For the flooring, I chose dark brown chevron parquet from Timberwise to match the shades.”

To talk about luxury is to talk about Dubai. And to talk about an unstoppable style is to talk about Nordic style. The result of combining these two factors is Nordic Luxe, a villa in the prestigious Al Wasl residential neighbourhood that stands as a monument to ultra-sophisticated luxury and has been designed and built by the Fam Group. This project is a masterful example of how Dekton by Cosentino meets the most demanding requirements and offers innovative technical solutions ahead of its time.

Nordic Luxe is a spectacular fusion of Middle Eastern luxury and Scandinavian design, offering a unique combination of understated style, functionality and comfort. The design of the villa is characterised by clean, uncluttered lines, abundant natural light and an exquisite choice of materials, all of which create a minimalist haven that offers visual tranquillity even from the outside.

Dekton’s innovative side in Nordic Luxe

The use of Dekton on the façade of the villa is a statement of intent. One of the colours chosen was Dekton Lunar, an ultra-compact surface that mimics the texture and colour of the moon, providing a smooth and uniform aesthetic that blends perfectly with the overall design of the villa. Its combination with the graphite black of Dekton Domoos and the use of wood accents creates a façade with an elegant and refined design.

“We chose Dekton for the villa because of its large format slabs, which give the façade a seamless appearance. Its durability, UV stability, heat resistance and wide range of colours are some of the other advantages that made it the perfect choice for the project,” says Fam Group. These words highlight the unique properties of this material, including its ability to withstand extreme weather changes, a crucial requirement in Dubai’s desert environment.

The use of Dekton in projects such as Nordic Luxe is the perfect demonstration of the material’s ability to meet complex architectural challenges without compromising on aesthetics. In addition, its ability to accurately mimic natural textures and its wide range of colours available make it easy to integrate into any architectural design.

A couple who love the beach, travelling, enjoying life and occasionally babysitting their grandchildren decided to buy a house by the sea where they could spend weekends and summers. They wanted it to be a comfortable, warm place where they could make the most of their time there. Designer Tania Nikolitsis of Tanik Design was responsible for making this dream a reality. “He was the managing director of an energy company based in Adelaide, while she was a housewife. They now have four grandchildren and spend weekends and summers here, while their main home is in Glenunga. They love the beach and that is why they bought this house almost three years ago,” says the designer.

In this small private paradise, the bathroom had to be up to the task, and if comfort was the priority, the water area had to be as spa-like as possible. And so it was designed by Tania Nikolitsis.

Consistent and spacious

“The use of Dekton for the wet areas makes the interior look consistent, spacious, with a resort, hotel feel,” says the studio. Specifically, the material of choice for this area was Dekton Marmorio. “When considering the entire interior colour scheme, Marmorio was the right choice as it complemented the mosaics, rugs, wall colours and sanitary ware we had in mind: it met all the requirements.”

With its linear nature, the travertine-like Dekton Marmorio creates continuity and gives the impression of cascading stone walls. “Its soft palette allowed me to use eye-catching sanitary ware. Although there is a contrast, they work very well together. Even the bespoke mirror frames take on a whole new meaning here.”

The elegant, nuanced grey is enhanced by the natural light flooding into the room through a large window. Floors, walls, cabinets, washbasin surfaces... it is all enveloping. “Dekton offered a perfect look that I could use in a wide range of applications, such as wall claddings, flooring, table tops and joinery. All of these applications are very important to my interior designs and that is why I chose Cosentino to bring them to life.”

The Tamarind, a newly built beachfront development in Penang (Malaysia), offers an array of facilities such as events room, multi-purpose hall, aerial yoga room, swimming pool and paddling pool, a jogging track, gym, nursery, green spaces, barbecue area and children’s playground, among others. It is also very close to a wide range of leisure and dining facilities, as well as transport services, schools and hospitals.

This privileged setting is home to an exclusive flat designed by Grov Design Studio, which has been refurbished with the aim of maximising natural light. ‘Located opposite and with sweeping panoramic views of the Straits Quay promenade, the idea behind this refurbishment was to maximise the brightness of the open plan living and dining room. Overall, we were looking to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere: airy, light, minimalist and subtly elegant, without overpowering the blue tones of the sea,’ explains the studio.

To this end, they opted for neutral and natural tones, with white as the main colour. In fact, Dekton Nayla, a consistent off-white, was the colour used for most of the cladding in the house, starting with the splashback and worktop of the kitchen and the island.

Dekton, easy maintenance and resistance: ‘Its quality speaks for itself’

The advantages of Dekton, Cosentino’s ultra-compact surface that is carbon-neutral throughout its life cycle are countless: it resists abrasion better than granite and porcelain tiles; it remains unaffected by scratches and impacts; it is non-porous, so it is also resistant to liquids and residues; it withstands extreme temperatures and even fire; and it is unaffected by UV rays.

‘The samples provided and the video presentation of the material ensured that the client had a good understanding of the product. The quality of the product speaks for itself,’ says the firm. The response was as expected: ‘The ease of maintenance and the features of Dekton – a scratch-proof and highly heat-resistant surface – are factors that always win the hearts of our clients’.

For Grov Design Studio it was also important to find an aesthetically pleasing tone for the project: ‘The textured design and matt surface are very eye-catching and suited our concept well’.

Dekton for the TV cabinet and the laundry room

They liked this Dekton colour so much that they also used it for the worktop of the TV cabinet, a bespoke design that matches the kitchen units perfectly. In the laundry room, a Dekton Nayla slab has also been added just above the washing machine.

In addition to aesthetics and functionality, Grov Design Studio’s relationship with the company is also a factor that positively influences their choice of products such as Dekton. ‘We are very pleased with the service provided by Cosentino, and with the fact that their sales representatives always keep us informed of the company’s new products,’ the studio concludes.

For lovers of pedals and routes on two wheels: paradise is in the heart of the south of Johannesburg, South Africa. We are talking about Thaba Trails, a hidden gem that has emerged as one of the best mountain biking spots in the city. This exceptional route is located in the Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve, a lush 450-hectare area that is also a sanctuary for the native flora and fauna of the high plateaus. Sharing the same name, the Thaba Trails bike shop and café was born as a meeting point for cycling enthusiasts, fans and professionals.

Opened in early 2023, the shop is a place of rest and meeting, so its design had to be combined with functionality. The project has the unmistakable signature of Boogertman + Partners, a world-renowned interior design studio, who worked hand in hand with the shop team to create a space that blends beautifully with the unique natural surroundings.

A tribute to the natural surroundings through Dekton Somnia shades

The design stands out for the use of Dekton, Cosentino’s innovative ultra-compact surface. This material, composed of a mixture of more than 20 minerals extracted from nature, was chosen for the shop worktops. In a constantly busy establishment that not only serves food and drink, but also deals in cycling and sports equipment, Dekton’s durability and strength were key. This choice is even more important when you consider that the shop also receives muddy cyclists at the takeaway counter, so a material that could withstand the toughest conditions was required.

Natural elements such as stone and wood pay homage to the unique character of the South African Highveld and, at the same time, establish a dialogue with the Dekton worktops, creating an elegant and dramatic contrast. With its subtle white veining and deep black shade, Dekton Somnia complements and enhances the rustic and natural aesthetics of the space.

This is a place where cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty of the South African landscape while enjoying an interior that has been designed with the utmost care and quality.

Located on the beautiful Riviera Nayarit, an internationally renowned tourist destination, Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos enjoys a beachfront location. The hotel features 79 rooms and offers first-class service worthy of its 5 stars, including a luxurious infinity swimming pool, a renowned spa and an excellent restaurant run by a 2 Michelin-starred chef.

The hotel’s décor exudes an air of relaxed exclusivity through the use of light tones, organic shapes, natural materials and the power of textures used throughout. Among the materials used are Dekton and Silestone, which can be found from the walls to the floors, ceilings and even the worktops.

Dekton Marmorio, a natural and elegant shade perfect for beach environments

The hotel’s large lobby is clad in Dekton Tk06 Marmorio, one of the hotel’s flagship colours. Inspired by Travertino Navona, a natural stone quarried near Tivoli, east of Rome, its porous, light coloured striped structure gives the space an elegant, bright and lightweight character.

In fact, this colour is part of the Pietra Kode collection, which decodes ancient Italian stones to adapt them to the needs of contemporary architecture. Therefore, as with any other Dekton colour, it is very easy to clean (a damp cloth is all that is needed) and is resistant to fire, water, frost, thawing, stains, impacts, scratches…

In fact, “the durability and maintenance-free nature of the material” were two of the reasons that led architect Ricardo Elías and designers Ernesto Vela and Melín Castro to use Dekton in the hotel. Aesthetics also played a key role in the decision: “The Pietra Kode collection fits in perfectly with the hotel’s concept, especially the Marmorio colour, which is inspired by natural stone and exudes timelessness with its shades that evoke elegance and beach environments,” they say.

Eight Dekton colours and one Silestone colour for the hotel’s decoration

All these advantages led to the use of other Dekton colours in addition to Marmorio. For example, Dekton Liquid Shell, a colour born from the collaboration between Cosentino’s design team and Patternity, a London-based design studio specialising in motifs and patterns, was used on the restaurant’s breakfast island. This colour features an off-white shade with cream nuances and a change in brightness that occurs on its surface as a result of its colour pattern, which is perfectly suited to the luxurious and relaxed coastal atmosphere of the hotel.

Meanwhile, Dekton Lunar, a discreet reinterpretation of conventional cement, was used on some of the tables in one of the restaurants, while the charismatic Dekton Morpheus, with its many nuances, reflections and flashes of colour in the form of veins crossing a white surface, was used on other tables and in some architectural details of the swimming pool bar.

Last but not least, Dekton Albarium and Dekton Soke, both with the Grip+ finish (an innovative and advanced anti-slip treatment) were used on a number of floors, while other surfaces were clad in the beautiful and sober Dekton Laos.

A matter of trust

Alongside Dekton, Silestone was another of the surfaces used for the hotel’s cladding. Specifically, the matt grey shade of Silestone Camden was used to define the space between the terrace and the planters.

This extensive use of colours and products was based not only on aesthetics, but also on the trust that the hotel’s designers placed in Cosentino. “Trust is the most important factor when relying on Cosentino. Cosentino and Grand Velas are both companies with shared visions and values and with a long-standing close relationship,” concludes the design team at Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos.

Multidisciplinary architectural firm Studio Power chose Silestone Arcilla Red, a colour from the Sunlit Days collection (a carbon neutral collection), for the freestanding island and matching floor of its office in Salford. The studio also chose Dekton Eter for the work surfaces and the front of the kitchen area.

“We went through several materials during the design process and felt that the warmth, simplicity and serenity of Silestone Arcilla Red were perfect for the studio island. We have always longed for a sculptural piece, and with Arcilla Red we have achieved it! As for Dekton Eter, it was beautifully combined with matt dark grey kitchen units to achieve a consistent, single-colour backdrop that allows the Arcilla Red piece to shine in all its splendour”, says Jyh Lee, architect at Studio Power.

Silestone Arcilla Red, a sustainable and low maintenance colour for the worktop and floor

Studio Power chose Silestone Arcilla Red for both the kitchen island and the floor area underneath it. The island features a thickness of 12 mm, while the floor is 20 mm. This carbon neutral material is made from 20% recycled materials and is a fully sustainable choice. This colour from the Sunlit Days collection is a deep, earthy red shade that brings warmth and a striking look to the open plan space.

Silestone’s innovative Hybriq+ technology provides a top quality hybrid surface made of minerals, quartz and recycled materials that ensures minimal maintenance and high resistance to scratches and stains, making it the perfect choice for this busy studio.

Eter, a grey shade that showcases the great versatility and durability of Dekton

The material chosen for the work surfaces in the kitchen area was 12 mm Dekton Eter slabs, while 8 mm thickness was chosen for the fronts. Manufactured by Bolton-based Signature Splashbacks, this innovative ultra-compact surface is composed of a mixture of more than 20 minerals extracted from nature. This material is extremely resistant to scratches, stains, heat and fire, and its use in these applications is proof of its strength and versatility. Its use is suitable for residential projects on all scales, whether for kitchen or bathroom worktops, wall cladding or even façades, flooring, furniture or shower trays, to name but a few.

Just like the Sunlit Days collection by Silestone, Dekton is also a carbon neutral material that combines sustainability with safety and energy efficiency. In fact, Dekton is LEED and BREEAM certified for environmental and sustainable design, and has the highest fire resistance classification. Last but not least, Dekton Eter, a colour from the Natural collection, features a stunning background in shades of black and grey and a contemporary look that is perfect for the studio kitchen area.
