Katja Suominen and her family bought a 180-square-metre 2-storey loft-type penthouse next to the centre of Tampere and renovated it quite extensively. For her new home, Katja chose a kitchen from Novart's Nordic Nature collection, which is coloured in dark oak on both smooth and grooved surfaces.
“The spaciousness of the new kitchen pleases, and this feeling is enhanced by the upper cabinets chosen on the back wall instead of the tall cabinets. I am pleased that no breakfast cabinet was chosen; the small machines in the box and the integrated coffee machine do their job well. Everyday luxury that you don't want to be without anymore. The bar counter has been surprisingly functional, and I often find myself working on it.”
“This is the first time we have a Dekton level and I have to say that this is really easy to maintain. All food stains have been removed by gently wiping and this is carefree with hot dishes when you don't need anything underneath. The Dekton Rem countertop has a matte finish, so this may sometimes include e.g. dark traces of ceramic dishes. However, it leaves easily with silicate rubber. The intermediate space of the same Dekton adds a calming feeling to the kitchen.”
“Dark wood is grounding, and I also consider it a timeless choice. I'm really pleased that we got such a spacious and peaceful kitchen with all its functions in the apartment building. This meets our needs brilliantly and there is nothing I would do differently.”
