Cosentino Purchasing department honoured twice

The Cosentino Group Purchasing department has been honoured due to its commitment to innovation and digital transformation.

This area in recent times has become a strategic area for companies to be able to guarantee their profitability and competitiveness.

“El Diamante de la Compra” awards

The first of these recognitions came from the Spanish Association of Purchasing, Recruitment and Supply Professionals (AERCE), that recognised Cosentino in a new edition of its “El Diamante de la Compra” awards.

These awards highlight the work done by those involved in Purchasing positions and the institutions that stand out due to their support and development of this role.

Cosentino was awarded second prize in the “Innovation” category and received a special mention in the “Purchasing Role Transformation” category.

Members of the AERCE appreciated the commitment the multinational company has shown in driving purchasing management that is both specialised and directed towards offering a valuable service to the rest of the company. And this, along with being able to stand back to see the full picture, has allowed for the planning and optimisation of costs, reinforcing cost control throughout the operational cycle and ensuring traceability and efficiency.

 

“SAP Quality Awards”

On the other hand, the company “SAP”, worldwide market leader in business software, organised a new edition of its “SAP Quality Awards”.

The prizes seek to recognise technology transformation initiatives that stand out for their quality and level of innovation.

Cosentino was a prizewinner in the “Innovation” category for a Strategic Sourcing project aimed at optimising the purchasing management area.

The project was based on the implementation of the SAP Ariba technological tool and, to set it up and implement it, the multinational company was able to count on the support of the Stratesys consultancy firm. Among other aspects, the jury appreciated the speed with which this company from Almeria, Spain implemented the solution – in only four months – and the project’s reach, that involves five different business areas and more than 450 suppliers across 16 countries in Europe and Latin America.
