Cosentino Group, the Spanish global leader in the production and distribution of innovative and sustainable surfaces for the world of architecture and design, unveils industry leading sustainable technologies across its entire product portfolio, with the debut of Silestone® XM mineral surfacing, at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, NV from February 27-February 29, 2024.

Silestone® XM

Over the past decade, Cosentino has celebrated major sustainability milestones. From creating Europe’s largest photovoltaic plant to achieving zero wastewater discharge at its Almeria, Spain Industrial Hub, Cosentino remains committed to sustainability that is an inherent part of its DNA. Now, Cosentino is proud to introduce Silestone® XM, a completely new category made with Cosentino’s proprietary Hybriq® technology composed of premium minerals and recycled materials with significantly less silica than traditional engineered stone. With this technology, all new Silestone® XM products brought to the market will be produced with a maximum of 10% crystalline silica content.

Additionally, all Silestone® products are made using 100% renewable electric energy, 99% recycled and reused water achieving 0% liquid discharge into rivers and seas, as well as a minimum of 20% recycled raw materials within its composition. The advanced evolution of Silestone® is the result of a $16 million investment and more than 90,000 hours of work over the last seven years.

“We have a responsibility as an industry leader to be forward-thinking and find innovative ways to ensure our products and business practices create a more sustainable future,” says Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino Americas and EVP of Global Sales. “Cosentino’s advancement in creating sustainable surfacing that is both beautiful and durable has been a critical priority. We are pushing the boundaries, and Silestone® XM is a direct result of our dedication to innovation.”

2024 Collection Previews

Cosentino is expanding its footprint this year at KBIS to a 4,000 square foot booth, offering an immersive experience for all attendees, with each corner showcasing endless application possibilities from shower wall cladding to furniture and bookmatching. The brand is set to debut five innovative collections across its portfolio of products in 2024, which are being previewed at the show. Each of these collections

embodies high-value craftsmanship with cutting edge technology. From innovative materials to new and diverse applications, the collections set a new benchmark in luxury and versatility.

  • Silestone Le Chic Boheme, an extension of the brand’s newest Le Chic collection and one of the first Silestone® XM collections, features four eye-catching colors like Jardin Emerald and Chateau Brown. Le Chic Boheme evokes Parisian sophistication with the essence of bohemian spirit and offers luxurious designs with metallic effects that offer distinguished depth.

  • Also part of Silestone XM is EARTHIC, a new collection with a new sustainable approach to surface design made in collaboration with designers and acclaimed duo FormaFantasma, a research-based design studio. The series will be officially presented at Salone del Mobile Milano in April.
  • Following the success of Dekton® Pietra Kode, Cosentino will launch Dekton® Pietra Edition, which features the next series of colors inspired by iconic natural stones. Later this year, Cosentino will also be launching AMAZONIK with new wood-inspired colors, and ORGANIK, colors that emerge from the Icelandic landscape featuring Dekton’s full body design DKore®. All Dekton products have reached carbon neutrality for its entire lifecycle.

Additionally, Dekton® Ukiyo is on display throughout the booth, designed by internationally recognized high-end interior and product designer, Claudia Afshar. Ukiyo, a first-of-its-kind fluted surfacing collection, is designed for vertical cladding application. The collection is available in matte finish, two fluting options, and five existing Dekton® colorways: Bromo, Kreta, Nacre, Umber, and Rem to provide a comprehensive color palette to work independently and together.

Cosentino's 2024 booth marks not only its biggest footprint yet, but also its first-ever collaboration with a designer to create the in-booth experience. Afshar carefully curated each collection to not only create a welcoming environment for attendees, but to tell a story of how surfacing plays an integral part in everyday lives and its ability to transform spaces.

“By highlighting the flexibility of Cosentino materials in various applications, the booth encourages designers to explore innovative ways to incorporate these products. Whether it's creating bold statements with rich hues or achieving timeless elegance with classic neutrals, the booth spotlights the countless creative opportunities, motivating designers to embrace these materials in their future projects,” Afshar adds.

Last month, Cosentino’s 25 year-tenure of KBIS participation was recognized by Bill Darcy, Global President & CEO of National Kitchen and Bath Association and Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (NKBA | KBIS) as he introduced Francisco “Paco” Martínez-Cosentino, President and CEO of Cosentino Group, as the latest NKBA Hall of Fame inductee during its annual C.Next Designers event in Los Cabos.

Additionally, Cosentino partnered with industry leading brands to explore unique applications of Silestone® and Dekton®, with Urban Bonfire, PITT, Miele, Kohler, Benjamin Moore and Planika featured in booth and Hestan, Kohler, Monogram, PITT, Danver, Dometic and Covered Bridge Cabinetry incorporating Cosentino within their own booth design to highlight possibilities within the kitchen, bar, and outdoor dining spaces.
