The surfacing leader returns as a sponsor for the second year, partnering with prestigious designers to showcase the endless design possibilities of its ultra-compact portfolio
Cosentino Group, the Spanish global leader in the production and distribution of innovative and sustainable surfaces for the world of architecture and design, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 49th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York. The Upper East Side showhouse transforms the historic townhouse of 125 East 65th Street, featuring stunning selections from Cosentino’s ultra-compact Dekton® surfacing portfolio, and is hosted in partnership with premier youth organization, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
The showhouse offers unparalleled access to experience the latest trends and talents of 24 leading designers. Cutting-edge applications of Dekton® are showcased in the kitchen, guest bathroom and powder room, supporting and inspiring this year’s designers with access to the surfacing collections’ endless possibilities.
“We are honored to be returning as sponsors of the esteemed Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York,” said Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino Americas and EVP Global Sales. “The home is a true celebration of design excellence, and it is inspiring to see the creative ways designers have applied Dekton® within. Cosentino is proud to collaborate with some of the top voices in design while supporting the ever-important work of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.”
“A Cotswold Retreat” Guest Bath | Mikel Welch Designs
Celebrated designer and Drew Barrymore Show expert, Mikel Welch, created a guest bath with regal sophistication reminiscent of countryside architecture in England. The bathroom pays homage to the rich history and picturesque hills of Cotswold, transporting guests to a nostalgic and charming state of mind without leaving New York.
The bathroom floor features a custom checkerboard pattern brought to life with Dekton® Micron, Kreta and Lunar, neutral colorways that add to the tranquil mood of the space. Lunar is also extended onto the shower walls to create a cohesive look. An intricate mural wallpaper serves as the background to the space, leading the eye to the captivating use of Dekton®.
“With Cosentino it was a seamless collaboration. I could customize everything, so we were able to do this fun checkerboard design on the floor, which is going to be eye-catching when visitors walk into the space. It’s neutral, but at the same time I would say its iconic. The material is absolutely timeless without sacrificing durability, which was important to me when designing,” Welch said.
“The Coveted Kitchen” | St. Charles New York
With New York City living, it’s no secret that the greatest luxury is space. The renowned New York design firm, St. Charles, upgraded the kitchen of the home to a luxurious, yet functional space inspired by home chefs and professional chefs alike. The team maximized every square inch with thoughtful, storage-saving features such as installing a coffee maker and microwave in a striking, Dekton®-ribbed column. Also, instead of crowding the range with wall cabinets, the design team chose to leave the space open, utilizing a brushed brass pot rack and Dekton®-built counter ledge. As a complement to the high-end kitchen suite, Dekton® is also featured in the backsplash.
The subtle and soothing tones of Dekton® in Rem and the new Dekton® Ukiyo in Nacre allow the architectural elements of the materials to stand out, enhancing the luxurious feel of the room.
“Enchanted Roots” Powder Room | Lucinda Loya Interiors
Lucinda Loya’s “couture interiors” are known for delivering an artistic edge with dramatic contradictions. For the powder room, Lucinda Loya designed an elegant custom vanity with Dekton Aeris. The neutral surfacing draws attention to the luxurious fixtures and accessories, complementing the maximalist wallpaper and printed rug to bring her ‘enchanted root’s concept to life.
