The Master Bathroom

Look at the pictures and you shouldn’t have to wonder why we start with the bathroom. Bathed in natural light, this ensuite is the perfect place to start or end your day.

“This is my favourite room in the house, so it’s hard to pin down one piece that I love more than others,” Angela hesitates. “But I love how the glass enclosure marries the modern and rustic feel of this space.”

The bathroom, featuring oversized windows that offer a spectacular view of the trees on the property, is proof that natural and industrial can go hand in hand.

“We wanted the space to be sleek and modern, warmed up with rustic elements. This is why we used Dekton with a concrete look and added the warm wood to the vanity.”

The children’s bathroom

For this busy room, the key was simple: a clean look with materials that are both durable and easy to maintain. This mission was accomplished using Dekton Lunar flooring. Scratch-, impact- and UV ray-resistant, this beautiful floor keeps its sophisticated appearance despite the daily wear and tear. And how could we forget about that magnificent grey-green wall covering!?

The kitchen

A lot of effort went into customizing the kitchen to make sure it was a practical place for the Price family to use daily. In addition to having a main space for meal prepping, the kitchen is equipped with a cozy nook where Carey makes the morning coffee and smoothies, without the appliances crowding the main space. The Price kitchen also includes several storage solutions such as:

  • Cabinets built into the back of the island to store the less frequently used items
  • Oversized lower drawers to keep the everyday items that would normally be stored higher to keep a clean line from the hood fan to the hidden upper cabinets
  • A pantry with custom pull-out compartments designed to hold a variety of bins and canisters.

However, what really won Angela over are the aesthetic details.

“I love the contrast of the black shiplap feature with the warmth of the cabinets. It’s neutral, but still interesting to the eye. The concrete farm sink and the clean Silestone counters and backsplash give the space a modern and sleek look, without being too busy.”

For their surfaces, the Price family chose Eternal Et Statuario Silestone.

“We chose this colour because of its slight veining. We didn’t want a counter that was completely white, but also not too busy. Eternal Et Statuario was the perfect choice! We chose Silestone because it’s known for its quality and durability.”

The Gathering Spots

Because the Price family receives plenty of visits from family and friends when they are home in Kelowna, it was essential for them to create areas with their guests’ comfort in mind. The first is a loft that can comfortably sleep a family of four and the other being a vast backyard that is equipped with an outdoor kitchen.

“We wanted to create an indoor-outdoor experience with a seamless cooking flow from inside to outside. The entire wall of the floor-to-ceiling windows open along the backside of our house, so it was important to have the interior and exterior cooking space be on the same level aesthetically.”

What’s more is that having chosen a material that is ultra resistant to stains and UV rays – Dekton Sirius – the parents can prep meals outside while watching the kids play in their Fun House or picking fresh foods from the garden. And when evening falls, the family can cozy up together around the double-sided fireplace.
