A striking building stands out in the skyline of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). It is none other than The Rainz, a newly built high-rise that stands out for its quality and luxurious amenities: a beautiful forest trail, a greenhouse, a large function room for residents, a nursery, trampolines, a furnished rooftop terrace, barbecue area, a swimming pool, tennis courts, gymnasium, etc.

The common areas of the development, located in the centre of all the services of the city, feature a modern decoration that extends to the private flats. Ippo Signature took this as the basis for the interior design of one of the flats, to which the studio also added its distinctive touch, characterised by simple shapes, dark colours and sophisticated atmospheres.

“In The Rainz, we focus on the beauty of clean, sleek lines, make clever use of lighting and play with contrasting colours”, the studio says. “Firstly, we use angles to guide the eye and give structure to the flat. We also make thoughtful and careful use of lighting to give balance to the space. Finally, we use a contrasting but consistent colour scheme that helps to unify the space”.

Silestone Et Marquina: better performance than marble

This is where Silestone Et Marquina comes into play. This colour was chosen for the bar top and the built-in wine cabinet underneath it, as well as for the island/dining table in the living room. “Initially, the customer considered choosing Marquina marble, but did not like the oxidation of natural stone”, explains the studio. Then, they came across Silestone Eternal Marquina and the decision became crystal clear.

This colour, reminiscent of the beautiful Spanish marble but without its reddish hues, features a powerful dark background crossed by strong, intense details and white veins. “It fitted well with the black and white design scheme that we had planned”, the studio says. “In addition, the fact that it is a sustainable and high performance product helped our customer make the right decision”.

The studio alludes to the eco-friendly manufacturing of the product as well as the use of Silestone’s exclusive and innovative HybriQ+ technology, which ensures minimal maintenance and high resistance to stains, scratches and impacts.

Silestone, a thin yet durable surface

But this was not the only factor that worked in favour of Cosentino’s product: “The customer wanted an elegant edge that was durable but not thick. We achieved this with Silestone in 12 mm slabs, which we love because it matches our elegant and minimalist style perfectly”. In addition, the product comes with a 25-year warranty, so its durability is more than guaranteed.

In the end, considering all these factors, it was the right decision. “Our experience with Cosentino materials has been excellent. We have relied on its surfaces for many of our projects and have always been impressed by the wide range of colours and the versatile nature of its products. Its commitment to quality is clear in its products; we will continue to use Cosentino materials for our upcoming designs”, the studio says finally.
