Cosentino partners with Debris Free Ocean to preserve Virginia Key, FL

As part of a global initiative to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability, Cosentino partnered with local Miami NGO, Debris Free Ocean, to clean Virginia Key.

To celebrate our year-round commitment to sustainability, Cosentino carried out a series of global actions in partnership with local NGOs to preserve and save beloved natural treasures. In Miami, FL, home of Cosentino’s North America HQ, we partnered with Debris Free Oceans, an organization that inspires local communities to responsibly manage the lifecycle of plastics and waste to eradicate marine debris from beaches, oceans, and reefs.

The Cosentino team along with friends, family, and the local community participated in an educational conversation with community leaders followed by a beach clean-up. We heard from Charlie Weyman, Educator of Virginia Key Beach Park who spoke on the history of Miami, Virginia Key, and the importance of beaches for the city. Then, members from the Debris Free Ocean Team gave an educational talk about plastic pollution in our oceans and what we can do to help the planet together.

Every minute, two garbage trucks of plastic are dumped into our oceans, and it is up to us to make a change - big changes are made up of small, everyday actions. Water is one of our most valuable resources, and at Cosentino, we treasure every drop as if it were the last. Through our circular economy and sustainable practices in our production processes, we have achieved zero liquid discharge and zero water waste. Additionally, we use 99% recycled and reused water in the manufacturing of the new Silestone with HybriQ+ Technology.
