An immersive experience in every sense

Designed by Wilson Associates, Haidilao’s newest outlet at Marina Square mall presents an exceptionally futuristic dining experience with a personalised menu, immersive dining experience with sound and light projection, and robot servers, on top of its signature services.

The restaurant’s theatrical dining experience requires a sound design built with high quality, durable material, hence the designer’s choice to use Dekton and Silestone in its busiest areas. The interior design incorporates no less than 180 slabs of Dekton Soke and 10 slabs of Silestone Desert Silver, with a total of 806 sqm and 50 sqm of surfaces, respectively.

A beauty salon that earns its name

A great dining experience is an alchemy of great food, great service and great ambience. In the age of information and disruption, customers are spoilt for choice. F&B establishments need to constantly reinvent their offerings – menu, interior design, dining promotions – to keep diners coming back for more. They need to sustain diners’ interest with fresh experiences that cannot be found elsewhere.

Haidilao understands this. Going above and beyond impeccable customer service, the restaurant chain’s answer to providing and unforgettable dining experience includes services like manicure in a beauty room while diners wait for their tables. Silestone Desert Silver is chosen for the vanity tops in the beauty room for its modern look and durability.

Buffet counter and claddings

A buffet counter to tempt the appetite as well as the eye

The Ritz-Carlton Abama is a five-star resort in Tenerife, the island of eternal spring. It is the perfect place to rest and relax while enjoying excellent guest service, in line with the philosophy of The Ritz-Carlton chain. With this purpose in mind, the renovation of one of its restaurants, “La Veranda”, was carried out in 2019.

The hotel has an extensive gastronomic offer with eight different restaurants, some of which have been awarded several Michelin stars. “La Veranda” is dedicated to breakfast and pop-up proposals. Therefore, this restaurant is equipped with large buffet counters where the food is beautifully presented and live cooking is performed.

During the modernisation project of the restaurant, led by Gregory de Clerck, all worktops were replaced with a single material: Dekton Olimpo. The result is a clear, relaxed and elegant atmosphere, in contrast to the warmth of the wood used in the dining area. Dekton Olimpo is a material from the Stonika collection inspired by Carrara marble. Its white colour with grey veins adds character and enhances the look of the restaurant.

The resistance of Dekton in cooking areas

Dekton can withstand the most extreme temperatures, such as hot cookware just taken off the hob. Furthermore, Cosentino's ultra-compact surface offers high resistance to scratches and aggressive chemicals, as well as almost zero porosity. Dekton worktops, with a 25-year warranty, were the best technical solution for the renovation of the buffet area.

From an aesthetic point of view, Dekton also had many advantages. The large format slabs (320 cm x 144 cm) create continuous, seamless surfaces that are more beautiful and easier to keep clean. These extra large slabs are ideal for worktops as big as those of “La Veranda”. Furthermore, the variety of thicknesses available (from 3 cm to 0.4 cm) multiplies the design possibilities allowing, for example, the same material to be used for worktops and kitchen cabinet doors.

The result is a sublime finish, beautiful and functional at the same time, ideal for surprising guests and making breakfast a first class experience.

Exterior elegance, interior strength

TOPA Sukaldería is located in the heart of San Sebastián´s Gros district (Northern Spain), and occupies a total space of 496 m2, divided over two floors. The ground floor is occupied by the kitchen and the dining lounge, while the bathrooms are located in the basement. Clarity of space, contrasts, an upbeat, cosy environment, myriad ways of welcoming customers, high-quality decorative and architectural products, and the use of recycled materials are just some of the key concepts that define this project.

The ultra-compact surface Dekton, and the ecological Silestone Eco Line range were chosen for this design. More than 400 m2 of Cosentino products were used in this inspirational culinary project. The spectacular kitchen and dining lounge are located on the ground floor. In this large space, the emphasis is on the visual contrast between the natural, marbled finishes of the Dekton Kelya and Dekton Aura tones, and the wooden planks and metallic textures that permeate the entire room.

Image number 85 of the current section of Topa Sukaldería - Page 2 of 3 of Cosentino USA

Resistance and hygiene for the most exposed surfaces

One of the priorities of this design was to harness the concept of an open kitchen, to allow customers and diners to see the chefs’ creative process first-hand. The Dekton Aura worktops and counters connect the kitchen with the rest of the room in an elegant harmony. Their wonderful pure white clarity, together with their distinctive veins, make them the room’s stand-out feature.

The safety and hygiene offered by Dekton when handling food, its high tolerance for both heat and cold without suffering aesthetic or structural changes, its high resistance to stains and scratching, and the availability of large format cut to size were determining factors in the choice of Dekton surfacing.

Furthermore, Dekton Aura was used as counter for the furniture located throughout the dining room, bringing greater visual harmony to the space as a whole.

Large format to minimize joints

The contrast between the stainless steel, which can be seen in abundance throughout the kitchen, and the deep, dark, matte finish colour of Dekton Kelya, is quite simply magnificent.

In addition to the beauty and outstanding technical benefits of Dekton, the option of installing large format slabs for the kitchen walls, with minimal visible joints, gives the space a greater sense of continuity and aesthetic elegance.

Environmentally friendly materials

For the sake of elegance and functionality, the Starlight colour from the Silestone Eco Line was used for the wall cladding in the bathrooms. This material was chosen in line with the use of recycled wood shavings for the ceilings and other cladding within the premises.

The emphatic black colour of Starlight provides the perfect contrast to the white of the bathroom elements and the grey shades of the flooring. The scintillating gleam of the mirror shards which are incorporated into slabs of Silestone® Eco Line balances the light and the darkness in the room, and creates an unexpectedly bewitching visual effect.

Opera and Domoos, durability for the Britannia dining area

The Britannia Hotel in Trondheim, Norway, first opened its doors in 1870. The Britannia, a landmark and historic site, has undergone numerous refurbishments over the years. The most recent took place in 2019, when it underwent a complete renovation involving the rooms and common areas, such as the Michelin-starred Speilsalen restaurant.

Seeking a balance between design and durability, the refurbishment team used Dekton in colours Opera and Domoos for those surfaces in constant use by chefs and customers, such as the restaurant countertop and bar, as well as tables and furniture in the buffet area.

Image number 115 of the current section of Hotel Britannia - Page 2 of 3 of Cosentino USA

Dekton makes the maintenance of the most used surfaces easy

Dekton Opera reflects the beauty and elegance of Italian Carrara marble; with its characteristic veining in grey tones, Opera adds distinction to the restaurant while offering great resistance to scratches, knocks and temperature contrasts typical in kitchens.

As for Dekton Domoos, it has been used to cover the buffet tables, a choice intended to give sobriety to the furniture, while combining with the light-coloured wood used for table frames.

Dekton is a non-porous surface, which allows for easy maintenance and cleaning, as abrasive substances do not affect its colour. It is ideal for adding a touch of style and colour to highly used surfaces.

Respect for nature, in every detail

Crowne Plaza - The Warsaw HUB had its opening in November 2020. This modern, multifunctional hub in the center of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, is an outstanding building and attention catcher. Two skyscrapers connected by a bridge are a place for conference centers, relaxation zones, hotels and office space. This is also the place for the first hotel from the Crowne Plaza chain in Poland. The interior design was entrusted to the Tremend studio from Warsaw, experienced in similar projects.

The main theme in the interiors of Crowne Plaza is the Vistula River and its unique wild nature. Respect for nature is manifested not only in this clear reference to the river, but also in the conscious selection of materials. Common areas are covered, among others, with Silestone by Cosentino, company that constantly develops its circular economy model. On top of that, Cosentino surfaces are characterized by exceptional durability and wear resistance.

“We decided to choose Silestone because, first of all, we want to cooperate with producers that respect the natural environment. Besides, this material fits perfectly into our main theme. The veins presented on the slabs bring to mind a river, which is in the center of our project”, explains architect Magdalena Federowicz-Boule, CEO of Tremend.

A chromatic gallery to recreate any atmosphere

The common areas reflect the bustling city life. They are full of color and eclectic. They are characterized by a wealth of textures, finishes and exceptional attention to detail - we will not find random decorative elements here. We will see beautifully finished bars - starting from the spectacular lobby bar, covered with white conglomerate Silestone Calacatta Classic and "crowned" with an impressive copper-colored frame, restaurant bars, as well as the Sky Bar on the top floor of the hotel. This luxurious space is completed by a sparkling black bar finished in Silestone Negro Stellar.

Pay attention to the furniture - soft leather, pleasant fabrics combined with a subtle pattern of durable tables. Black Silestone Eternal Noir used on the countertops combines perfectly with warm brown seats and old gold of the lamps and furniture details. The conference center, however, has been kept in the lifestyle spirit. It evokes associations with a modern command center, filled with new technologies and cozy at the same time.

Cosentino, more than a supplier

The interior of the hotel uses the highest quality materials to reflect the metropolitan character of the place and meet the expectations of guests from around the world. Designer lighting, a lot of natural greenery, carefully selected furniture - all this creates a modern space that will suite everyone. One of the consistent elements that one can find in many spaces are tables by NAP. Their minimalistic form is enriched by variety of veined tabletops by Silestone.

“Our adventure with Cosentino began with this great adaptation of the Crowne Plaza interiors. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of all products, as well as with the communication and service of the company. Our orders were ready on time and in the agreed configurations. We will certainly introduce Silestone and Dekton countertops into our future designs”, says Mikołaj Wielowiejski, Sales Director of NAP.

Character and exoticism

Quipu restaurant offers the raw, unfiltered beauty of nature as a visual, aesthetic and gastronomic experience. And it does so by evoking the most authentic Peru: furniture made from natural elements and earth colours that recreate a traditional Peruvian home and invite you to taste the best of creative Andean cuisine.

The interior design of the establishment has been the work of Javiescobar Interiorismo, an interior design studio that has taken advantage of natural elements such as wood, natural stone and rattan to create a unique atmosphere. Dekton has also contributed to this atmosphere with its Liquid Embers colour, which has been used for the bar top.

“We chose Liquid Embers for its dark colour with blue tones and, at the same time, because it embodies elegance and freshness. The charcoal colour of the material reminds me a lot of fire and coal, and in this project we wanted to focus on nature and natural elements”, explains the studio.

“Dekton is a really user-friendly material for cooking”
Javiescobar Interiorismo

Dekton, comfort for every situation

Having met the design criteria, the studio sought durable and robust materials that wouldn’t get damaged by daily use and challenges of a restaurant. “No other material provides the hardness and rigidity that Dekton offers. It provides amazing versatility for such a demanding live cooking bar top: you can use it to place a hot wok or as a chopping board ... it’s a really user-friendly material for cooking, especially in a Peruvian kitchen that requires a lot of fire and heat for cooking. ”

The ultra-compact Dekton surface is especially recommended for applications involving temperature contrasts as well as for use as a work surface suitable for all types of businesses, as its physical-mechanical properties make it highly resistant to scratching, easy to clean as it is a non-porous material, and it is even fire-resistant.

A colour palette to recreate any environment

“The important thing is not what you eat, but how you eat it”. The quote from the Greek philosopher Epictetus presides over the main dining room of the Joseba Añorga tavern-restaurant, a dining space that offers its customers an experience that goes beyond the culinary. The decoration of the establishment, featuring Dekton's colours Liquid Sky and Khalo, recreates different natural environments of the province of Almeria, in southern Spain.

“I wanted to recreate atmospheres and landscapes of the surroundings with very bright colours that would bring light to the restaurant”, explains Lucas Paris, the interior designer responsible for this interior design project. Paris used Dekton Khalo with Xgloss finish for the bartop, and Dekton Liquid Sky for the cladding of the main wall of the dining room.

A material designed to ‘endure’

This is not the first time that Lucas Paris has worked with Cosentino’s materials. In fact, the designer has already carried out other projects using Dekton as his benchmark material. “I always recommend Dekton for its durability and resistance. I have it well tested. I am also very interested in the fact that it is a very clean and easy to maintain material, which is very much appreciated in the hospitality industry”.

Dekton's versatility has led the restaurant owner to use small pieces of the material as plates or placemats. “We found it very interesting that the diner could eat directly on the material itself. It is part of the experience”.

A complete renovation

The Joseba Añorga tavern-restaurant is located in an early 20th century building that has undergone a careful process of restoration and renovation. Both the exterior façade and the interior spaces have been preserved while providing modern elements and designs.

Dekton's ease of installation and handling in architectural solutions, such as the main wall cladding, has been one of the key elements that has facilitated the rehabilitation work.

Finally, the fabricator company responsible for the project, Encideluxe, highlights the challenge to achieve an outstanding result: "in this project we took care of every detail, we managed to join the veins following the specifications of the interior design. We are proud to see in our projects collaboration, functionality and elegance."

Special from every corner

Located in the wooded area of Lage Vuursche (The Netherlands) you can find Hotel Ernst Sillem Hoeve. This former coach house from 1880 has 85 modern hotel rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool, an infrared sauna, 2 hotel bars and 20 meeting rooms.

Hotel Ernst Sillem Hoeve combines the grandeur from the past with current modern facilities. In 2018 the restaurant part was renovated. Etienne Bouten, of B+B Interior architecture, took care of the design.

Image number 206 of the current section of Hotel Ernst Sillem Hoeve - Page 2 of 3 of Cosentino USA

A material to withstand thermal contrasts

The client as well as the interior designer had experienced cooking on Dekton before. A worktop-concept with an invisible induction hob mounted below the Dekton worktop with induction cylinders and cooling plates. This makes direct cooking and cooling on the material possible. The induction hob is invisible for the eye, but when the chef puts a pan on the worktop, he can start cooking. “This gives a bit of a surprise for the guests and a unique experience in the restaurant,” says Etienne Bouten. Next to this, the material is also great for cooling and preserving food.

Cooking on Dekton is a unique concept and guests find it really cool that they can just touch the worktop and it is not hot. This is because after removing the pan, the worktop immediately cools down. For the worktops which are being used for cooking and cooling the hotel chose for the Dekton colour Kelya, a luxurious matte black colour with the look and feel of Spanish marble with light grey veigns.

For the bar, Silestone was chosen in the colors Grey Amazon, an earthy color with lots of movement which gives the bar a warm charisma. For the pantry and high tables Silestone Bianco Rivers was used. This is a luxurious marble look which brings timeless class yet modern charm to the room.

The unique soul of historical buildings

Sophistication on all levels, that’s what defines chef Wouter van Laarhoven and his partner Malou Hagenaars. In 2019 they realized their dream and opened restaurant/bodega ‘Alma’ in Oisterwijk (The Netherlands). In this they found the perfect location with an unmistakable charm and history. The building called ‘De Lind’ is known in Oisterwijk as ‘De Swaen’ (the Swan) since 1631. Top chef Cas Spijkers used to cook the most beautiful dishes here.

On the top floor of the building a fine dining restaurant was created which can seat 48 people. It includes a balcony with a beautiful view over De Lind, perfect for outdoor dinners in the Summer. In restaurant ‘Alma’ everything comes together and the cuisine brings true meaning to the frase ‘soulfood’. Alma means soul in Spanish, a refferal to the high level experience the couple offers their guests.

Advising from start to finish

The interior design of Alma has a strong Spanish influence. Chef Van Laarhoven fell in love with Dekton by Cosentino, strong slabs in a natural stone look and feel. Architect Jeff van Riel of Zout Ontwerphuis made a design for the restaurant.

Van Laarhoven visited the Cosentino facilities in Spain during the design process. “What struck me most in Spain is the size of the slabs. I got a good picture of the veining in the matieral. It was wonderful to be able to visit the factory and see all the colors in large size. That eventually led to the choice of a different colour than we initially planned.”

Design that stands up to professional demands

The choice for Dekton was made thanks to the elegant yet robuste look and durability of the material – Dekton is resistant to stains, scratches and extreme temperatures. The material has been incorporated in the bar, the tabletops, in cupboards and in the kitchen where the material even is being used as induction hob to cook on. This is a unique application for a professional kitchen. Because Dekton is heat resistant, induction coils can be placed underneath the worktop.

The induction process does not transmit heat to Dekton, only the used pan transmits heat temporally to the surface. Through a special operating system the temperature can be raised. This makes this application not only beautiful, but it also brings practical advantages like a large kitchen countertop without interruptions. The surface is very easy to clean, simply use a damp cloth and the stain and heat are gone.

Now nothing stands in van Laarhoven's way of cooking the most beautiful dishes, assisted by his wife who is also a cheese master.
