Cosentino opens a new City Centre in Old Montreal
May 10, 2017
Cosentino has officially opened its second City Centre in Canada, located in the heart of Old Montreal. The new addition highlights Cosentino’s international growth and continued commitment in the Canadian market. Cosentino currently operates in 32 countries with Canada being the only market to have two dedicated Cosentino City Centres.
A special media breakfast was held on May 3rd to allow the media to preview the beautifully appointed space. Chef Marie Fleur St. Pierre prepared some of her signature dishes, following a demonstration showcasing Dekton Ultracompact Surfaces’ extreme durability.
The official grand opening of Cosentino City Montreal showroom took place on the evening of May 4th with an elegant reception for over 200 members of Montreal’s influential architecture and design community.
The celebration kicked off with speeches and an official ribbon cutting ceremony led by senior representatives of the Cosentino Group including (left to right): Brandon Calvo, COO Cosentino North America; Robert Costenaro, Cosentino City Montreal Showroom Manager; Hubert Dubois, Quebec General Manager; Eduardo Cosentino, EVP Global Sales for Cosentino Group and CEO of Cosentino North America and Philip Eeles, Regional Director of Distribution Cosentino Northern Region.
The “Cosentino City” concept is an innovative space designed for a metropolitan setting. Utilizing the latest digital technology, it allows architects, designers, project managers and consumers the chance to experience the wide range of Cosentino products, including Dekton ultra-compact surfaces and Silestone natural quartz. Cosentino City Centres are much more than a showroom and aim to promote a collaborative and creative environment where visitors can discuss ideas, products and designs in an open, modern space, reflective of Cosentino’s signature style.
An interactive kitchen display, a state-of-the-art LED sample viewing program and technologically-advanced work spaces allow trade professionals to work on project development directly at the Centre. Cosentino’s expert team can offer information and personalized assistance to customers using interactive technologies that enhance the product selection and customization experience. The new 3,920 square foot showroom will be a hub for the Quebec market and Atlantic Provinces.
“Quebec is an extremely important market for us here in Canada. This region has an insatiable passion for design and by increasing our presence in Montreal, we can effectively meet industry needs by offering a unified space designed to support, promote and educate the design community. Customers can get a first-hand look at unique surface installations with much of the Cosentino City showroom being outfitted using our Silestone and Dekton products,” said Eduardo Martinez-Cosentino, EVP Global Sales for Cosentino Group and CEO of Cosentino North America (pictured above).
As a Spain-based, family-owned business with nearly 40 years of history, Cosentino has long been a globally trusted surfacing brand. The opening of the Cosentino City Montreal reflects the company’s overarching strategy to strengthen its position as the surfacing leader in the North American market. Additional Cosentino City showrooms in Miami and San Francisco are planned to open later this year.
“Since Cosentino’s first City Centre in Canada opening a little over two years ago in Toronto, we’ve seen the design industry embrace and welcome the Cosentino brand. We only expect the same to happen in Montreal and look forward to the City Centre’s impending success,” adds Martinez-Cosentino.
Cosentino City Montreal is located at 240 Rue St. Jacques in Old Montreal.
